If you look under some of the stuff piled on top, this is a 1/15th scale model of the SS President Cleveland. The real SS President Cleveland was ordered for WWII, but never used and turned into a passenger vessel. This model was rescued by Lindsay Schroeppel and is currently housed at the Sanford & Sons Antique mall. When the model is complete it will be seaworthy. Stumbled into an amazing antique mall on my search for coffee and have stumbled into my perfect Saturday. They are playing this American Life on the radio and I'm talking about vintage trains. This man owns the vintage train shop and is building a Ferris wheel with a rare erector set. So much art, so many signs to photograph. and I just learned there was a magazine with the amazing name "Private Varnish" for people who restored vintage rail cars. I will need a subscription to that. And I've only walked 10 feet into this place, it used to be a car dealership. #ihearttacoma #wphlocalstory http://ift.tt/17FO4Lx

The museum hosts visiting artists throughout the year.
