silly for fun au designs... basic concept is two versions of the catto games on a single computer, with two different players - one ("NewUser") who just wants catto to be happy and got a good ending timeline, and one ("Admin") who perpetuates the timeloop for their own amusement. the two cattos don't know about each other (at least initially), though there's only one minori and violet who travel between the two instances

ennui!catto is completely fucked up and paranoid, may honestly attack you if you startle him
bro has no idea wtf is going on at any given time; he does not retain most memories of the loops most of the time but DOES always retain this all-consuming sense of dread
bottles up basically everything he feels because he feels like he'll sound like a goddamn maniac if he doesn't, though this VERY frequently boils over. most cycles at this point end with him chasing away all his friends, sometimes even on purpose
goes into fawn mode like CRAZY whenever Admin is involved, desperately trying to impress them
ennui!malice isn't having fun doing this shit either tbh. some loops it straight up doesnt even do anything to catto anymore even despite the compulsion of the code
ennui!malice has... also picked up fawning tendencies. but mostly it just wants to kill Admin. in real life. SO MUCH

he remembers both his normal life and also the experience of being malice. it's something that still kind of fucks him up a little, but he's made peace with it.
in the early days of his recovery he used to hide his scars, usually having a scarf over his throat, but he's moved past the need for it

in general his friendship with NewUser is very lighthearted and casual. they are literally just chilling
occasionally gets like, SUPER crazy emotional about his friends, liek "*bawling* BIG BOI BUDDY IM SO GLAD YOURE HERE WAAAAAAH-" however since his non-phasing friends dont really remember The Horrors much it just baffles them
work doodles of designs from a dream i had of a mario "creepypasta" fangame called Super Dragon Mario, dream writeup pasted under cut
had a dream about a 3d mario fangame called "Super Dragon Mario". mario's design in this game (presumably "dragon mario") looked the same as regular mario but with spiky white hair, a red moustache, and pointed red feather plumes for ears. imagine similar but green for luigi. also mario spent most of the game hatless
this game was kind of like. imagine super mario 64 but you can also do smbz shit. and the plot was basically during the very early founding of the mushroom kingdom someone (i dont remember who) accidentally awakened a malevolent dragon god, who devoured luigi's soul and stole mario's hat and poorly tried to mimic mario's appearance and was now trying to brutally take over the mushroom kingdom and turn it into a world of nightmares.
everything was designed with the visual sensibilities of like, modern creepypasta/exe games, but i cannot stress enough that TONEWISE it was crazy-ass shounen.
the biggest fucking twist of all though was that this was meant to be an origin story for WARIO. like after freeing luigi and the mushroom kingdom the de-powered doppelganger was presumed to go on to do normal wario things. awesome. i should note he never called Himself wario thats just what everyone else started calling him because of his hat. i dont remember what his true name was or if he even HAD one.
also in the game's lore the people of the mushroom kingdom were like refugees finding a new home and the place they settled was like. strangely desolate and full of ruins and everyone was like "why does no one live here anymore its so nice??" so presumably exiled dragon god wario destroyed the previous civilization.
distinctly remember one bit where the doppelganger's gloating about all the power and stuff he'll have now, listing off everything the kingdom has, before he gets to mentioning the treasure and someone (peach? idr) points out they in fact do Not have vast amounts of wealth yet bc they Just settled here. and the doppelganger immediately flies into a rage and a bossfight starts
i do also think the game was like presented online As a creepypasta game even though it definitely didn't feel like a horror
i definitely think that my brain was just wrongly crossing some wires between mx and the wario apparition lmfao. i dont know whether its funnier to think the doppelganger becomes more canon wario-shaped after his defeat or if his design does not change AT ALL even by the time hes doing regular canon wario stuff.
