Both sets of curtains up! Hurrah! The next post you see will be about the move in process!
Our sunsets go floor deep.
Tiny cat on a big roof (as seen from the studio window).
This is where I draw the line. . . between the studio and kitchen, that is!
Match made in heaven.
Yes, they ARE that colorful and shimmery! Great way to warm up a cool palette!
You know how it goes. You make a decision. You execute said decision. You take a step back and wonder what made you think it would be a good idea in the first place.
Survival Kit consists of four very creative people, three of whom are extremely dedicated musicians and two of whom are having a go at careers in the visual arts (yes, my math is correct - there is some overlap!). We are in love with the process our Instruments provide, and not to toot our own horns (a metaphor made even funnier by the fact that none of our resident musicians play a horn) but we DO have good taste. Yet, as evidenced by the trial and error nature of creativity, we flounder, we fall, we fail. One of the reasons we decided to take part this adventure is that we NEED each other to move forward. Honest critical feedback, inspiration, creative harmony (both aural and visual) and most importantly, folks with whom we can celebrate when we have Those Moments of clarity, those times when an idea is so luscious and perfect that we look around to see who might have planted it there, not trusting that it came from our own hearts.
The polyurethane looks pretty crappy on our white gallery floors. I had a silly idea for curtain rods that is impossible to engineer. Alex has painted and repainted her floors and walls until they were JUST RIGHT.
We have good taste. We sweat to bridge the gap.
