@survivnte " i don't understand it. shaun made a version of himself ? nore - he ... " it's so hard for nate to process. he can't imagine how nora feels; the woman who carried a boy who became a stranger. " oh, baby .. " they had just lost shaun. could they love a synth?

nora settles against her husband's side, watching dogmeat and the synth playing together. she can see flashes of both of them in the boy. his smile and a crinkle of his nose. the way he knits his brows together. is this really what their shaun looked like when he was a boy? or is it what he thought they would want?

she'd met synths in the wasteland. men and women she believed deserved to live their lives even if they weren't the original. they didn't know better after all. but now, here was a gift from their son. from father.

"the boy...he's innocent. he doesn't deserve how much i hate him right now." her voice is low, only for nate. she feels guilty for her anger toward the young synth. "he didn't ask for this anymore than we did."
