With Lex gone and everyone still seemingly missing his brother more than they would ever miss him, Roderick was faced with a tough decision. Thomas had done his best to tell him not to let people change him, to ignore what others thought, and yet, he couldn’t.

Falling out with Ben hadn’t been the end of their relationship but it showed him he was never going to be good enough for anyone but Thomas, so he did what he thought was best, and wrote a letter to the Alpha, letting him know he planned to leave the city and take Thomas with him. Even made sure to pay for the slave three times over in order to allow it. He wasn’t leaving the other wolf behind. Thomas deserved to be free, and they both deserved a new chance at life.

He packed up and called Thomas to the car, taking the collar off him and kissing him. “You’re free, pup. But I was hoping you’d want to come with me anyway. I was thinking Rio, to start with?”

Roderick looked up to the other pup as he said he knew when he was upset “I haven’t forgotten!” Thomas was the only one who ever saw things his way, maybe because they were alike, or just blinded by love. “You know Ben came to ask if Lex could be put with the family. Like dying undoes all the shit he’s done.” He smirked “You know the one thing that both pisses me off and makes me laugh? Lex was an asshole and everyone loved him even though he kept himself all fucking hidden. I admit what I am, and I’m the fucking monster? Least I’m fucking honest about it, when the fuck was he ever really honest unless it was to get something?” He growled, taking a long drink “Just sit down and grab a drink, or fuck off!”

“I didn’t know that,” he comments quietly, but isn’t all that surprised either. While Roderick and Lex couldn’t stand each other’s existence, it was no secret that Ben had a closer connection with him. Once upon a time anyway. But just because Thomas knew that, didn’t mean he agreed with the attempt to put the remains of the wolf with the rest of the family. It would be an insult on top of what he already did. At being told to sit down or fuck off, he just rolled his eyes. “Just because you’re pissed off at everyone else, doesn’t mean you get to talk to me like that.” He came up, sitting beside Roderick with a breath of a laugh. “What have I been saying all along, Roderick? These people already made up their mind about you long ago. You’ve tried changing for them and still, look. You’re surprised they all favored him and still do? These are the people you want to fit in with? To guide you to be better?” He shook his head. “I don’t blame you for being pissed off, but when will you actually listen to me? You’re perfect as you are, so there’s no need to go out of your way to change for them. And you damn sure don’t need to be sitting here letting your toxic thoughts about your brother batter you. Who wants to be loved by everyone anyway?”

Roderick frowned a little as Thomas told him not to talk to him like that, he would of pointed out which one of them was a slave on the equation but really he didn't see the point when Thomas never acted like a slave and he didn't force him too. Still, it irked him a little and he rolled his eyes. Listening as Thomas told him that he had been right all along and that the city would never accept him and always miss his brother. Fucking asshole was floating from the grave more than likely. "You think I should just forget it then? Give up and go back to being myself, the wolf that claimed you against your will, forced myself on people, ripped humans open?" He asked and leaned over, closer to Thomas "if I was older there wouldn't be a problem with that, but they see me as a pup!"

Roderick handed her the drink and smiled "Well Gorgeous, I'm pretty sure everyone in this city right now hates me, but considering I don't give a shot, I'm pretty good! Plus Thomas keeps me company, and it's not like he can go anywhere even if he wanted to, so I definitely can't complain!"
