"The Spot" acrylic/canvas by Nick Flook. Where's your fave spot in the world?
by Sakutaro
Idiomatic Expression - tú di rana y yo salto
Literally, "you say frog and I jump"
This is very colloquial It's almost exactly like English's, "I say jump and you say how high"
You can also phrase it as y yo brinco which is from brincar "to bounce" or "to hop", instead of saltar "to jump"
And sometimes it's phrased as dime "tell me" - note that these are commands; it's literally "you tell me frog, and I jump"
The only other variation I know of is some people say sapo "toad" instead of rana "frog"
-
The other very regional version of this I know is Chilean:
upa chalupa
Just for the rhyme but it's like "let's do it". Sometimes someone says upa and the other says chalupa... sort of like "Shall we?" "We shall" but sillier
