Deliciously Simple Banana Raspberry Smoothie and Some More!
Who doesn't love raspberries! They are sweet and healthy, good-lookin' too, but there are so many ways of using them, not just as a food. But, first thing first. Some facts about this delicious fruit, a smoothie recipe and then some other stuff where you can find raspberries.
Fresh raspberries make a delicious topping for cereals, pancakes and waffles, yogurt, puddings, cake, and ice cream, addition to fruit or green salads or just eaten right out of hand. They can be preserved in brandy or syrup or added to vinegar to make a delicious salad dressing.
Raspberries make wonderful tarts, jams, jellies, compotes, wine, and beer and an elegant addition to champagne and punch.
Cooked raspberries, mixed with a touch of lemon or orange juice to enhance their color, make a tasty sauce for chicken and fish dishes.
Raspberries are high in vitamin C and are also a good source of both soluble and insoluble fiber.
Banana Raspberry Smoothie
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt or frozen low-fat yogurt
2 ripe medium bananas, peeled and cut into chunks
Combine juice, yogurt, raspberries, and bananas in blender. Cover, blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
