I’ve accumulated enough illustrations for Digimon Beatbreak, so I made a doujinshi (fan-made comic) containing them.
Since I made it, I set up a booth at “KEMO-KET.”
*What is “KEMO-KET”?… KEMONO(beast) only event. Similar to a medium-sized Comic Market. Doujinshi and merchandise are sold at this event. The name “KEMO” comes from the Japanese word “KEMONO.”
Now, the question is, how popular is Digimon Beat Break?
Certainly, on the internet, Beat Break seems to be popular. It’s mainly popular with people overseas.
So, would anyone at KEMO-KET be looking for a Beat Break doujinshi?
To cut a long story short, three people bought it.
Is that a lot? Or a little?
Incidentally, the two types of “original doujinshi” I made that were on the same table sold out quickly.
I think it depends on the nature of the event, but normally, it’s impossible for original creations to be more popular than fan fiction.
When I ask people who come to my shop, “Have you seen Beat Break?”, nobody says they’ve watch of it.
I really want Beat Break’s popularity to increase…
The characters are so captivating, it makes me want to create fan fiction!
So, I’ll be bringing Beat Break books to Super Comic City (aka Supacomi) in May.
