a nickname is given to every thai child to be referred to in their day to day life. the nickname given to her by her father was ploy. however, she is mostly commonly referred to as suvi due to her legal given name being suvanant. being born and raised outside of thailand, it had become more convenient to use suvi rather than ploy. her family refers to her as ploy, everyone else refers to her as suvi. if you call her ploy and you're not family, she'll find it weird.

her family has a very dysfunctional background. her father was originally married to someone else back in thailand. he would take business trips to london and would meet samira. samira gets pregnant and has suvi. her father lives a double life going back and forth from bangkok to london. eventually the lies catch up to him, but because he had been gone for most of the year to stay in london, his wife in bangkok had also cheated on him several times, having children with another man without his knowledge. she had managed to keep the pregnancies a secret since they were hardly ever intimate after birthing their first child.
naturally, this all led to a divorce which surprisingly ended off rather amicably. he moves to london permanently with suvi's older half-sibling and moves in with samira and suvi. during this time of her life, suvi wasn't aware of what her father was doing or what he did. she didn't learn until secondary school. she thought it was so fascinating and dramatic. she used it as inspiration for a creative writing assignment in her english class. she didn't bother to conceal the identities of her parents or her father's first wife, she felt like it would lose its authenticity if she had used aliases. her teacher was concerned and told her parents what she had wrote. for the 100th time in her life, she was grounded.
and with all the trouble she got into, she was scared of her parents to an extent. if she didn't get into a degree they approved of, they would cut her off ( they've threatened her many times ). and the only thing she feared was losing access to money. she applied to the imperial college of london and was accepted into their software engineering degree.
during her time in university, she sold fake designer goods to make extra cash. the allowance her parents provided her only covered her essentials and she needed money for music festivals and travel! she stopped her side hustle once she met the youngest son of the bulletin corporation's ceo. she has a rich boyfriend now! there's no point in working.

when she applied for the internship at comoedia corp, she intentionally publicized her photograpp-h account to reveal all the photos of her and minkyu. if comoedia is as petty as they appear in the media, surely they'd want to hire the girlfriend of someone who's in the family of their biggest competitor! of course, there's a chance it would backfire on her and they'd think she's there to spy, but it worked to her advantage. she was asked for an interview and the interview process was a bit painful, but she was hired in the end. it turns out, they hadn't looked at her profile and hired her purely based on her schooling.

after her internship, she was offered a more formal position. she accepts and works there for a year. she hated it. it was so boring and dress codes suck and why was the ac always on so high! once an executive from app-h had approached her about a position, she immediately accepted. the working environment there suited her best and her ideas were actually being heard. she works there for a few years under the visual x team as well as helping with improving photograpp-h.
she began multitasking — working at app-h during the day, working on a stock app with two friends from college at night. as much as working for app-h had been the best experience so far, but she found herself bored. she needed a change in scenery. the feeling of handing in her resignation this time was a lot different to when she had done so back when she was working for comoedia. she was sacrificing stability by risking a chance on an app that could potentially fail. somewhere between all this, her and minkyu get back together and he lessens her fears and burdens when he ( and others due to his connections ) invests into the company now known as better wealth.
