DAMIAN WAYNE
crouching on the edge of the roof, damian ignores the pizza box and gives his best friend a dubious look — going home early had not been part of the plan. “and? i’ll do your ridiculously easy homework for you when we’re done. problem solved, superboy. you’re welcome.” the vigilante waves his hand dismissively and pulls up his hood to hide his face from jon. “your parents aren’t here and my father won’t care unless we get caught. so, what are you afraid of? i doubt that kang’s guards are armed with anything that can actually hurt you.” damian had promised superman that he would keep jon safe and damian intended to keep his promise.
it’s no secret that jon trusts damian, and for a fleeting moment, jon feels tempted to let damian do as he wants. then the reality sets in. as much as jon likes damian, he isn’t going to let him boss him around. especially not when damian is about to do something potentially dangerous. jon puts down the box and crosses his arms across his chest. “no.” jon says in a stern voice, his feet hovering off the ground. “we’re going home, whether you like it or not, robin.”
