YOON AREUMSEO（윤 아름서）, better know by her stage name NOVA, is a south korean dancer, rapper, and producer under pledis entertainment. debuted on may 26, 2015 joining SEVENTEEN as its final and only female member, turning what was once an all-male group into one of k-pop's most unique co-ed acts. before official debuting, nova trained for years — at first, she auditioned for CUBE entertainment in 2008, where she was accepted and trained for a while before being placed in the final lineup of the iconic girl group 4minute. however, after a few months of training with the other four girls, her mother decided she was too young to debut and chose to retire her from the group. returning to her normal life, she still wanted to pursue her dream of becoming an idol and convinced her mother to let her audition again. in 2009, she auditioned once more and was accepted into pledis entertainment, where she trained for another six years. finally, and unexpectedly, she was announced as the only female and last member to be revealed of SEVENTEEN. she debuted on may 26, 2015 at the age of nineteen years old along the other thirteen members.

𝘆𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘂𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗼 — growing up, many things happened within her family, most of them revolving around her father, whose sudded departure left a lasting impact on her. over time, she began to feel that her surname no longer belonged to her and that she didn't want to be recognized as his child. after years of reflection — held back by her mother disapproval, in 2018, at the age of twenty-two years, she finally changed her last name from her father's dynasty 'lee' to her mother's family name 'yoon'. at the same time, she decided to modify her given name as well. though she knew that areum had been strongly choosed by her father, she wasn't ready to completely change it. instead, she added seo（서구）to it, a way to symbolize transformation and a new chapter of her life, and also was part of her deceased sister name. that's also the reason why she decided to debut with a stage name.
𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗲 — aria is an italian word meanin 'air', 'lune' derived from the french word for 'moon'. togheter, the name rapresent 'a melody beneath the moon' and she likes to think it represents her.
𝗿𝗶𝗿𝗶 — mingyu came out with this nickname when, one day, nova randomly wanted an english name. mingyu happened to be here and helped her to came up with her english name, but he wasn't much helpful as 'riri' didn't sounded english at all. mingyu though it was easier to remember and pronunce, plus it sounded cuter.
