Either he was bold … Or incredibly stupid. Maybe both. Molly continued to smile, but, there was a shift in her features. A certain emotion washed over her face, going from playful to more … Stoned. Her eyes were sharp, smile almost like that of a serpents. A slight darkness reigned over her lids as she gave a short, amused chuckle.

Her tongue clicks. “Oh… Oh, sweetheart.. You’se drownin’ real bad, ain’t’cha?” Molly gave another short laugh. “Listen, babycake. If you’re tryin’ ta’ swing in for me ta’ put’cha name in some good graces you can forgedda’bout it. I like ya’, sweetface. I do. But, business is business. I’m sure you unda’stand, yeah? ‘Sides… Even if I were ta’ say somethin’ nice and butta’ ya’ name up real nice and smooth Angel ain’t one ta’ let money go. Eva’.”

Duncan is quick to notice the woman’s change in her features, it didn’t take much to realize she thought that the skeleton didn’t think much of her intelligence. Which is not necessarily true, he still hasn’t assessed her intelligence yet, but he definitely it’s more than the idea she inferred.

“Hah! Trust me doll, I know enough ‘bout butterin’ people up to know it won’t work on good ol’ Angie.” Duncan couldn’t help but to let out a small laugh, the cigar falling off his mouth. The male almost felt insulted by the implication he wanted her to put in a good word like they were highschoolers with a crush. No, what Duncan is planning is something a bit more... involved than that.  “No no, I don’t need your help for that part, like you said, business is business, there’s actually somethin’ else I’ve been plannin’ for a while, something that’ll benefit everyone involved.”

“I intend to... acquire the Rehab Hotel’s funding.” The male stated, straightfaced (as if there was any other way), his eyesockets fixed upon the woman. There was confidence in his tone. “All I require is for you to tell Angie ‘bout this, and that he’ll get his money and more.” Duncan waited for the woman’s response, expecting her to have questions such as ‘How about Alastor?”

Molly merely… Smiled. It was a knowing smile. A smile that was amused. One that said that she possibly knew something he didn’t. And it was the fact that Angel didn’t take too kindly clients who owed him money. That was the thing with them - those reigning from the Old Country. It was that when it came to money it would always be handed back over in blood.

Considering Duncan would ask if it bothered her made her begin to believe he didn’t understand the sort of trouble he was going to be into. After all, why would she be bothered if she knew what would happen if he didn’t come through?

“Botha’ me? Why should it. It ain’t my business. Not my money gettin’ fucked ova’,” Molly would reply rather bluntly with that same smile on her features. “S’only fair ta’ warn you, though, you got a clock tickin’ on ya’ life line if you ain’t pay’em up anytime soon, though. I like ya’, sweetheart, I’d hate ta’ see my brotha’ pickin’ at his teeth with one’a your ribs, ya’ know?”

Duncan gave the girl a knowing nod, he was quite aware that owing money to Angie was basically a recipe for suicide, but Duncan didn’t know who Angie was back then, he had just died and suddenly he found this hot piece of ass willing to do anything for him, Duncan just thought he could bail and never see him again, but... as the time went on, he saw that not only is Angel Dust famous, he’s also way more dangerous than the regular no-name demons out there. 

“Trust me doll, I’m well aware that I’ve poked the bear with a shortstick on that one.” Though the words coming from the man’s mouth seemed to indicate fear, his tone was still calm, confident, much to his habit of pretending to be something else. “But you know, I find that there’s always a way to get out of a rough situation, all it takes is a bit of charm and some help, if said help is inclined, dig?”

Molly gave a low giggle when he’d point out what they both knew he knew. “Awh… Is it that obvious? Most people can neva’ tell, ya’ know!” Molly would tease.

There’d be a slight pause between them, her eyes remaining upon Duncan with a sharp smile and slight glint within her irises. “He’s my younga’ brotha’. We’re real close, as siblin’s can sometimes be.” It was rather vague, but, what else could he want? Besides, Molly wasn’t going to spin a tale of woes and their entire life story to this guy. Ain’t anyone’s business anyway.

Then there was that impish smirk yet again. “But, please, don’t let that stop ya’ from leavin’ out any sorta details you wanna go addin’ on ta’ whateva’ you and Angel got goin’ on.”

“I suspected as much.” Duncan stated, if he had anything but a skull for a face, he would definitely be smirking right about now. Duncan had his suspicions but he really wanted the girl to confirm it. So the beautiful stranger was Ange’s sister? Oh... this is good, the skeleton male could work with that, if he plays his cards right, good old Duncan might be on Ange’s good side again. “Pardon my bluntness, you two are too darn gorgeous, it could only be genetic.”

“Since you’re been so kind as to tell me, doll! Let’s just say that him and me aren’t on a monetary understanding, dig? Which means I owe him a shitton of money.” Duncan gave another look at the woman before him. “Does that bother you?”

Eyes lid lower ever so slightly before they rise again, a look of faux confusion on her face before recrossing her legs in her seat. Not giving a response toward his … observation. Molly had a feeling he already connected the dots. Not that she’d go folding any time soon. Where’s the fun in that?

“Sounds like ya’ know tha’ guy pretty well then, I take it?” Molly would ask with a raise of her brow, glancing back over at Duncan curiously. How well did he know him was the question. “I heard’a tha’ Rehab Hotel,” she’d then go on to admit. Yeah, it’s where she was currently rooming. Not for personal help, of course, merely there for… ‘Support’. “Think it’s cute.”

“I suppose even demons got their pipe dreams.” Duncan honestly couldn’t really believe in such a thing as a ‘Rehabilitation for the dead’, the idea alone made the male scoff at how ridiculous it is. Maybe when he was alive and younger, he’d believe in such tales, but years of experience turned him into more of a cynical. 

“But to return to your question. Angie and me have a bit of a history, dig? Though from his side, I’m just another mook he hooked up with.” There’s also the fact that he hasn’t paid any of their encounters and for this reason he’s been avoiding him, but there’s no reason to reveal that now. “I would tell more, but I like to believe that friendship, especially new ones, are founded on equal info.”

“I pretty much know what you n’ Angie are, but as a celebration of our newfound friendship, why don’tcha tell me ‘bout your relationship with him?”  Duncan didn’t lie about connecting the dots, he just wanted to see if Molly would display the information to him, that alone would determine if she believes in him or not..

Dan to my friends, Big Dan to the honeys!” Duncan stated, pulling out a small business card and showing to the other a business card with the name ‘Daniel Way’ on it, only to promptly put it back into his suit. “Y’see kid, I’m a Model Agent and I’m currently looking for someone to be the new face of ROGUE magazine. And my boy, you might just be the person I’m looking for!”

“Rugged handsomess, a confident strut, and just an aura of swag! Oho, sonny, it’s a wonder why your face ain’t on TV yet!”

Molly’s eyes held a glint within them as her smile sharpened. There was the question now within her mind over how she should answer. The question was asked a lot, or people merely immediately too her as her brother by accident. One time it having been fatal. But Molly tended to have fun with such things sometimes - how could she not?

A tilt of her head, letting a brow raise in curiosity. “Angel Dust, huh? Name’s familia’, what’s it matta’?” she’d go on and ask. He knew her brother, sure, everyone knew her fucking brother, pretty much.

But, the big money question was how did he know her brother. Because not everyone knows him solely for his work. Thinking that way was rather ignorant in the line of work her family was in.

“It doesn’t, not a lot matter down here.” Duncan stated, taking a long drag out of his cigar, eyes the woman up and down, ashamed of not realizing it earlier. How could he have been such a sucker? The swanky skeleton is usually so observant, to think he’d miss the resemblance. “It was more of an... observation is all.”

Oh yeah, he could definitely see how the two could be related, she got all the right curves that good ol’ Ange, had. Oh the memories he had with that fuzzy fella, not all of them good due to his actions of course, but he still looks back to those memories with a certain tenderness he didn’t anyone else. “Angel Dust... quite a fella, ain’t he? Heard he’s mixed in that whole Rehab Hotel shebang.”

How much do you charge?” Was Verosika already breaking the sober rules after just getting out of rehab? Yes. Did she care? FUCK NO.

“Hell yeah doll! I got the good shit!” Duncan pulled out a bag of white powder out of his cheap, but fancy-looking suit. The truth is that Duncan isn’t really a dealer, in fact, he despised drugs, that shit messed with his head worse than booze, and in his real line of work, one must have a clear head over his shoulders. even if it’s just a cranium.

In fact, the powder isn’t even coke, it’s some drywall he got from his apartment’s wall. But these junkies are so cooked out of their minds they don’t even know the fucking difference. “Oh! Not so fast sugar, where’s the bread?”

Molly’s face remained unchanged as he would begin to talk of his own family. Only the slightest raise of her brow when he finished was all the reaction she would give. Being so open about that surprised her, truthfully. Not many people like to open up about their life on top. What reason was there? Plus showing any sort of ‘vulnerability’ like that was just pointing a target at yourself. People liked to be secretive down here.

Molly tended to overshare, and at the same time, keep a majority of her stuff hidden. It was an odd illusion. So, when he began asking about her family, Molly merely had to smirk. That wasn’t something she’d be crystal clear open about with a stranger - but she can paint a pretty picture.

“Mia famiglia? That’s a question you don’t wanna go askin’, sweetheart, but, I’ll indulge ya’. S’pretty big family, all’a us pretty close - grew up in New York City. Dunna’ if you can tell we’re a family’a Italians, so that alone should be enough for ya’ ta’ get’a idea, huh?” Molly gave a small laugh. “I gotta couple’a brotha’s. Lotta cousins.” A hand gestures as if to go on and on. Of course, ‘family’ doesn’t always just mean blood related within such a family with the heritage they have.

She didn’t want to give into too much detail, of course. Just enough for him to get sated and not go letting his mind go wandering too deep.

Duncan legitimately couldn’t careless who knew about his family, hell, he cut off ties with them when he was in his teenager years. He only found out about their deaths when he was alive. So not only did his family die because of how ‘nice’ they were, Duncan also outlived them all, even the kids... like... Jesus Fucking Christ. Regardless, the important thing is that Duncan had very little connections with anyone in hell, maybe the occasional mark he used to have back there, but nothing personally important.

The lady on the other hand, was as slippery as an eel when it came to her family. The male was observant enough to realize there was something more deep down. Suddenly a memory struck Duncan like a truck as he heard the girl’s accent a little bit more, and suddenly an image of a tall fuzzy man appeared in his mind. How could he have forgotten about him? Was it the fear he had for the incredibly classy lady making him forget even the most obvious detail?

“Ya know... you remind me of someone I know.” He took a long drag out of his cigar before continuing. “Angel Dust... would you happen to know him?”

Niffty’s eye widened comically once she realized her blunder. “N-no! I didn’t mean it that way!” The maid was quick to reassure the skeletal man. Although it was wasted on him. 

She silently scolded herself for being so insensitive. Here was someone trying to redeem himself and she practically admitted she didn’t trust him. Charlie would be so disappointed in her. “I’m sorry, I just–” Niffty’s gaze darted between Duncan and the floor, trying to decide what to do in this situation. “….I suppose I could show you where it is….”

“You’d do that? Doll, you’re sweeter than a bonbon.” Duncan buttered her up a bit more to make sure she would be more convinced to show him the money. This was almost too easy, most suckers in Hell tend to be a lot more cautious, so he has to do double the charm, but the girl genuinely seemed like she believed in him without any evidence. 

But... she’s probably scheming something herself. No doubt the maid is trying to find a way to profit off from this, perhaps she’s aware of the con and is going to try to blackmail him into getting half the share? Well, if that’s the case, the skeleton would have to think fast. It has to be something like that... after all, why would she be in hell if she’s just that nice? “After you, hot mama.”

If Duncan had any skin right now, he'd definitely be sweating bullets. The male usually liked to lay low and be invisible among the overpopulation in hell. So he honestly didn't really wanted to meet Angel Dust at all, if ever. He expected that AD would have given up on Hazbin Hotrl right now, I mean.... their debut showed him causing mayhem for fuck's sake! Duncan was confident he wouldn't last a day in this goody two-shoes rehab camp.

"Look... I don't got your money right now... but... isn't meeting an old friend enough of a payment?" Duncan stated with his arms open, truth to be told, Angel and him were never really friends, the skeleton was just a client who had the gal to not pay the demon.

“Ever thought on profitting from your struggle?” Duncan put his legs on the table, cigar in hand as his empty sockets stared upon the innocent imp creature. The skeleton creature overheard some rumors about a legless kid working at this restaurant, the moment he heard that, he just had to see it for himself, this could be a goldmine if played with the right cards. “If I had your deficiency boy, I’d make sure to get a life of luxury every day of my life.”

He didn’t need to say anymore with his answer when he’d get around to it, however. Molly understood perfectly. She knew the lingo and subtext - in the environment and family she grew up in she could pick up the clues rather easy. How interesting.

“Really? How adventa’rous’a you,” Molly would comment with an easy going smile. “S’how lotta folks tend ta’ be down ‘ere. Why quit tha’ pra’fession ya’ good at, ‘cha know? As for me,” Molly would begin, inhaling deeply as she lets out a hefty sigh. “Can say I’m in that same boat - I’m an on call nurse for my family.”

What else was there to say to that? Not like they very much kept the mafia business hidden down here anymore, but, where was the fun in putting all your cards out at the start?

“Otha’ than that, though, hate ta’ disappoint, but that’s all I really got goin’ for me. I just tend ta’ come out ta’ tha’ bars ‘n’ clubs ‘round tha’ city, do a lil’ dancin’, drinkin’, gamble time ta’ time before headin’ on home or ta’ a motel room with anyone who manages ta’ captivate me ‘nough.”

“Your family, huh?” Duncan fixed his gaze back at her with his empty eye-sockets, a second of silent fell onto his non-existent lips. That was rather interesting, to have everyone of their family down here? Usually at least one or two family members tend to go to the other place, but for an entire family to be so despicable as to end up here, now that’s a story. “Sounds like a pretty interestin’ family.”

“Mine died of starvation because my dad couldn’t support the family with his salary, but since they were honest folk they ain’t around, guess sufferin’ for nothing pays off, huh?” Duncan stated, implying that the only reason he’s in hell is because he’s the only one who actually fought to survive, even if it meant doing questionable stuff. “Why don’t you tell me ‘bout your family, doll?”

“Big Boss and Radio Al, probably doin’ some backoffice statistic or somethin’.” Which is why he decided to pull this con at this time, but of course, he’s not going to tell the girl that, especially when he’s so close to the money. “I was figurin’ if you could... Oh... I get it.”

“I’m not trustworthy, eh?” Duncan stated with his head held down, doing the best to fake being deeply sad despite having no facial expressions. “I get it, doll. Guess once you end up like this.” He pointed at his own face, referring to his charred skeleton. “It’s hard for anyone to trust you...”

“S-sure!” Niffty answered, hoping she didn’t sound too eager. But she honestly couldn’t remember the last time someone had asked her out on a date. Probably never. “I would love to get to know you better!”

“Bitchin’! Let me just... Oh, fudge!” Duncan exclaimed with feigned surprised worthy of the oscars. This is it Duncan, the girl is completely charmed by you, now all you need is rob her and this mansion blind. “I forgot that I gave all my money to your boss so that I don’t feel tempted to gamble.”

“Ain’t that a kick in the head? And I really wanted to take you out on a date.” Duncan gave a small sigh as he rubbed the top of his head, pretending to be deeply disappointed. “Hold on... you work here, right doll? Do you know where the big boss keep the money?”
