On a recent trip to Peru, I spent quite a lot of time trekking in Huascaran National Park. Laguna 69 is a popular warm-up hike for those venturing further into the mountains and at roughly 15,000ft, this was no easy walk. The turquoise waters were fed by waterfalls that cascaded down the rock slabs from the glacier above.

#HatunMachay at sunset. @amanda.winther and I spent an amazing week shredding our fingers on volcanic tuff at 4200 meters. Being the rainy season, fog and clouds usually rolled in by 2pm and it was rare to see a sunrise or sunset but I managed to capture this one. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Now we are sitting in a cafe in #cusco planning our next adventure, the #AusangateTrek. This high route through the central #Andes crosses four mountain passes over 4000 meters (the highest, Palomani Pass is 5200 meters - over 17,000 feet). #teamcanon #exploreperu #patagonia #submission
