I mean, same
“best photo organizers local not in the fucking cloud”
Every year since 2009, on October 17th, the anniversary of Morgan Harrington’s disappearance (which is in spitting distance of my own birthday) I pause.
She disappeared at a Metallica concert. We were (are?) the same age. I almost saw them on that same tour. Maybe in another universe, I did. I was the one who went to get something in my car, but then couldn’t get back into the arena because I left my ticket inside. I was the one who got picked up by a taxi. I was the one who had my ribs broken, and my upper arm spiral fractured. I was the one assaulted and left in a field for my parents to find five months later, with mud and grass creeping through the negative spaces in my skeleton.
This could have easily been me. I’m never going to forget what happened to this young woman. I’m never going to stop being the role model I needed when I was younger. I’m never going to stop giving other women the tools and confidence they need to take care of and protect themselves.
I’m not scared.
the only rock song sung by men that includes lyrics about women undressing, which I will entertain
