W8D54 7/24 Friday 4 mile Base Run

Some trail miles in Kzoo. I am kind of taking a whole "Kari day". Time to myself mixed in with to dos. Figured it was the best of all the worlds.

I drove to Kalamazoo and got in my miles first. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring these trails. There aren't too many miles worth, but you can get a good amount by hopping around the options.

Although I took one route that would take me fully around the lake...turns out conservation efforts had a different idea. So I ran BACK around the lake.

It was fine. It was very pretty and ended up being the perfect amount of miles.

Now I'm working from a Potbelly Sandwich shop for a bit. Grocery shopping would have been next, but I need to swing into an auto parts store to have them check the codes on the truck. It died while I was driving. It started back up once I was able to stop and put in park, but I need to figure out what is going on. It did this while I was in Chicago for the anime convention as well, but not since. I'm thinking a sensor issue. I don't think it is my alternator dying, but you never know.

And then I will get my groceries before heading home. I thought about seeing The Odyssey later, but will be a wait and see thing. I might be ready to chill at home by that time.

imagine you had a friend who constantly made jokes at the expense of something you loved. they're never funny, but they seem to expect you to laugh even though the punchline is just, "this thing you love sucks ass". it's not even really a joke, there's nothing funny about it, you can tell that they genuinely actually believe it. but they insist it's just a joke!

no matter what the situation is, they're always bringing the social interaction to a screeching halt with these jokes. nobody ever wants to participate in this joke with them. nobody agrees with the premise. nobody ever knows what to say afterwards, it's just an awkward moment and a subject change. but they just keep doing it.

you have to stop with the self-deprecatory "humor", it's not fun for anyone including you.
