desperate to get a break from how suffocating the royal life can be, newly crowned king artie escapes in the evening to a lesser regarded tavern where he meets rosalie.

this is all being workshopped so it’s very subject to change!!

some backstory about the huntsman family:

landon was born in northern ontario to phoebe and justin huntsman. they lived in a quieter area, a bit of a drive away from a smaller town, and on their large property turned into an animal sanctuary/zoo.

way back when his mom was alive, landon and his parents had a small docu-series about their lives on their zoo- educating kids on canadian wildlife and nature. it aired on the canadian children’s stations (PBS kids- if you know it) and they were household names for the children around canada- a wild kratts/steve irwin type of series.

although, when phoebe (his mom) got sick, things changed. episodes became more infrequent. finally, after a year or so, the last episode with phoebe aired. though it started with a dedication to her.

informing everyone this would be the last episode featuring her. justin and landon, of course, took the loss incredibly hard and the episodes stopped after they attempted to make another episode a few months after- however they were too obviously not themselves and the series ended.

it took years to really pickup their lives again- and though her loss will never be truly healed in either of them- they still keep up the work on the property phoebe loved so much.

hi there! would love for you to share a bit about Landon in his highschool days after nublar! what's it like for him coming back from the island?

hey!! thanks for asking!

he has a lot of trouble adjusting, since he’d never been away from his dad for a long period of time like that. but coming back, he finds his dad doesn’t truly understand what it was like for him and he can’t handle the same workload he had before and so they lose a lot of time together.

he *really* clung to the nublar 10 (his first true friends after being homeschooled his whole life) and being so far from them in canada he grew pretty lonely. his highschool was small and definitely not full of his type of people. everyone knew he was the nublar kid, and he got a lot of flack for it. this kid mason specifically targeted him a lot and he would insist landon made up how truly awful the island was.

him and ewatainne also went through a breakup around this era, (GOTTA talk about them soon) so that played a part into his isolation. not that the nublar ten didn’t talk to him- moreso he couldn’t handle being so far away and so found *himself* distancing just because it was easier on his mind.

eventually it leads up to him getting into a fight and going on a big road trip away (just before the events of chaos theory) in some sort of attempt of self-discovery.

chaos theory is where he really starts to heal and get himself on a better path, being with his group again and having them to really keep him in check/face people he’d done wrong and swallow his pride.

TLDR:

just an anxious, edgy kid going through a rough patch.

i love this guy and am happy to answer any questions :,) sorry this is sorta word vomit-y! i haven’t written a good update for him in hs, it’s mostly drawings or actual scene writing. (which hopefully will be posted soon enough!)

Landon’s character info

• Has so many dangerous outdoor stories its hard to tell when he’s stretching the truth

• Always means the best but often pushes others out of their comfort zones to try new things

• Tries to emulate his dad and how he was a leader in his life, but can cause him to butt heads with other bigger personalities

• He struggles with letting things be unfair and has a strong sense of justice, especially for animals

• Very confident and can overestimate his own abilities

• Kind of like a human version of a pamphlet you’d get on a zoo tour, he knows a ton about general animals and lots of niche things about plants

• Has great survival skills (knowing which plants to stay away from, starting fires, etc etc)

• It takes a lot to hurt his confidence, and when he does it’s usually because he messed up

• Struggles being on his own for too long since he was always with his dad

• Has more improvisational comedy? He isn’t usually funny on purpose but can think of the occasional comment

• When things go south he’s quick to protect others, especially if he put them in said danger

• Horribly scared of losing people, after his mom he takes that stuff real seriously and he gets real flighty (ben tryna stay on the island, ewa breakup, brooklyn’s death scare)

• Very behind on trends
