Cooking was something Allison loved to do. Creating meals and seeing smiles across the dining room table of her home, sharing a small glass of wine with her work friends over charcuteries. Although she was never an extremely social person, she really did enjoy spending time with those close to her. She inhaled deeply as she smelled the peaches finishing roasting on her small little grill before quickly plating the steaks and salads she had finished for dinner tonight. As she brought the plates to the dining room table, she heard footsteps coming down the hall. “How do you always know exactly when I’m setting the table before I even call you?” she joked, smiling over as she finished bringing out the food.

Allison had her nose deep in her computer, editing away and drafting emails when her phone went off in the middle of the library. Her meeting tomorrow with the owner of the town’s library to discuss how they were going to create a better space and introduce more books into the children’s section, as well as creating reading spaces and book clubs for them had her jittery. She took a breath and stepped away from her computer, packing it gently before she moved downstairs to the cafe. “Lemon Balm Tea, please, make it an extra large,” she sighed, before moving into the seating area with her hot drink. To her luck, of course, empty chairs were few and far between. “May I take a seat?” she asked to the person she noticed who had an empty chair across from them.
