griefxgiftedā:
True as it was not a long time she had been with Des, a year or two. maybe a few? It was hard to tell how much time really passed when she was locked up in her studies but even so the other had been with their Grief Demon for much longer. Not even considering that Eton would be even more distraught with no sign of Des in who knows how long. It must had been difficult, much more so than what Leonora had gone through.
ā I have been doing well. There are still voices, I donāt think his influence is entirely gone and he rarely spoke in his own voice either when he did talk to me. But they certainly arenāt as loud. Much more manageable than what it had been. ā The darn allergies. Always making it more difficult to really tell what was going on around her in spring. Leonora couldnāt tell the demons were still within the house despite the connection.
ā If I do recallā You did mention something of teaching me a thing or two about your magic? These little mints seem like a good way to start if youāre offering to make me some anyway. ā
āThatās goodā Nim hummed out knowing it might take a while before things really went back to normal. That was of course if that voices would vanish at all, but even if they didnāt them not being as loud was still a step above what was happening before.Ā āAs long as it's manageable, it's moving in the right directionā how much it would still move only time would tell.Ā
āYes my offer to each still very much standsā she wasnāt surprised that the other seemed interested in learning a bit more. Witches werenāt exactly common to see anymore, having been hunted down like Vampires, though the former had an easier time to blend in with humans.Ā
āSurprisingly enough my mints are some of the more potent things I make, granted not all of them and the ones I am referring too are quite mild but not all of them are that... harmlessā Chuckling as she pulled out everything they would need for the mints.Ā āA lot of it comes from using the right ingredients, but our magic does play a part. Also, just like in normal baking sticking to the recipe is very important unless you want a less than pleasant surpriseāĀ
How exactly their magic worked was hard to explain, if you gave the same recipe to a witch and a human and gave both the same ingredients you could still get different results. That was besides the point that a lot of ingredients that Nim used would be unobtainable to humans anyway. But things were different for the Vampire.Ā
āI have to admit I do not know how your powers will work with this, but there is only one way to find out. If baking doesnāt work I can still teach you other spell that donāt involve the culinary artsāĀ
griefxgiftedā:
ā All things considered it has been peaceful as of late. Des seems to be happy causing some terror in the city, but he hasnāt killed anyone . . important. Thankfully. I canāt thank you enough for helping me with this spell. I donāt know where my sanity would be if I was still stuck with him like that. ā
āNo need to thank me darling, I was more than glad to help outā Nim said humming working on some sweet like the witch always seemed to do. She did understand how much of a burden was lifted from the other now that Des was no longer tormenting her.Ā
Even if her own dealings with a grief demon had gone a little more stable than Leonoraās had been with Des. Granted that had happened over time which these two hadnāt gotten, which was probably for the best knowing how close she had gotten to losing it all if it hadnāt been for Airad.Ā
āHow have you been feeling? I know it can be quite jarring to not have a second voice in your head anymore.ā chuckling, setting the tray she had been working on aside for now. Eton was around here somewhere, Nim could feel as much, maybe he wanted to make some sweets for Des or something.Ā
āIf you need some I could make you some mints that will calm your mind a little, those helped meāĀ
giftedfangsā:
Des hummed. ā I doubt that they knew what they were signing up for. The stipulation wasnāt clear now was it? ā still it did rouse a chuckle from him thinking of it in such a simplistic way. ā It appears the blood did you well. ā
āI guess I could have been clearer, though most were more than happy to give me a blood sample for my servicesā how big that blood sample was she never specified. Nim had to admit it was a nice change to have the grief demon not insult her.Ā āIt certainly did, for not being of any magic source human blood really is usefulā talking about blood like it was just another ingredient in her baking, which to Nim it was. A lot of her more potent recopies called blood of some kind to be spilled.Ā
āCan I offer you some sweets? I have been told you quite enjoy thoseāĀ
" Bloodletting only became popular after the witch's healing was deemed demonic. They believed bloodletting was the key to healing due to people such as Nim who could cure nearly anything yet stole their blood. "
āExactly they somehow thought taking blood was what cured all those illnesses when in fact it was something we gave them. Also I wouldnāt call it stealing, it was the price they paid to get cured, after all what is a bit of blood in exchange for your life.āĀ
āWell I wouldnāt have let him live with me and Airad if he was terribleāĀ
She is staying out of this but if she will defend herself if Duke tries anything.Ā
āFeels like somebody is talking about me, strangeāĀ
corruptedsilenceā:
Walking inside she took a seat on a couch that was near the entrance and would fidget with the cane. Trying to think of the best way to approach this situation it was a lot to talk about and. . she might as well be blunt about it.Ā ā Him.Ā ā Gesturing to her cane she would imply Des.
ā And the fact that uh⦠Dukeās father is a vampire hunterā and heās back, somehow. From the dead. Not because of me obviously, but heās back and we have a month to run away and abandon the cane or be killed.Ā ā
Well Nim had expected the first conversation topic but not the latter, did nobody stay dead in this place?! Letting out a sigh as she pinched the bridge of her nose, this was way messier than she thought it was. So instead of being able to help with a topic she had experience with she would also deal with hunters... great.
āIām assuming you have met Desmodus then?ā crossing her legs Nim needed to know how much Missi knew by now. It took a few seconds for the last part of what the vampire had said to sink in.Ā āHe wants you to do what?!āĀ
āSo he knows of the cane, not much apparently since he wants you to leave it but he knows of itās existenceā this was already giving her a headache. Leaving the cane was not an option, it wouldnāt fix anything and likely would only make things worse.Ā Ā
@corruptedsilenceā:Ā " Hey. . . Nim. We should talk. There's a lot going on I think you should know about. . . "
The Witch wasnāt surprised to see Missi here, even though Nim hadnāt been around the castle to see what had been going on, she still knew about a few things. Worrying things but instead of reaching out without knowing what she was getting into she had made some preparations.
āOf course, please come inā her voice as sweet as always not giving away her worry for nowĀ āclosing the door to her quaint home behind Missi sitting down on the couch like they usually did.Ā āWhat do you want to talk about?āĀ
āIt feels like somebody is talking about me...strangeāĀ
āI see that I missed some things...āĀ
seraphvieā:
āIt would be more accurate to say Iāve gotten everyone up in arms because Iāve been trying to get something done about the Caneā¦ā
Artemis leaned against the back wall, rubbing his forehead with a sigh.
āBad enough my attempts have failed, but as people continue to remind me, Iām only making an already difficult situation worse.ā
āWanted to do something about the caneā she hummed out a bit amused about just how little the other was giving away.Ā āWell I canāt blame Missi for not being thrilled when a stranger shows up at her place wanting to do something to the cane.ā
āIt seems like you werenāt the best at explaining what you wanted to do and why you wanted to do so. There is no use in being secretive about the artifacts with a person that holds one, keeping her in the dark about everything will not aid you in anythingā her tone not as sweet as usual Nim wasnāt too concerned about the cane just yet, though of course she had a different outlook on them.
āFor somebody who never held the cane, you are really invested in what happens to itāĀ
@seraphvieā from -> xxx
Admittedly it was odd seeing the other in a cell, but then again with everything that has been happening lately, this wasnāt the strangest thing.Ā āI came to talk of courseā Nim said matter-of-factly.Ā
Making a chair appear the witch sat down, she had a feeling that this may take a while, depending on what Artemis would share with her.Ā āI know about your Father being back, but there is no need to worry he wonāt hurt me or Airadā crossing her legs while Nim couldnāt be sure that Hafter would not try anything, she was confident she would be able to defend herself. After all she not only still had her artifact, who right now seem to enjoy seeing the vampire like this, but she also was a lot stronger now.Ā
āBut this isnāt about your father or at least it isnāt just about him, all you Vampires seem to be all up in arms. While usually that wouldnāt affect me, things seem to be getting out of hand. I have been told that you have been talking about the cane...āĀ
āVampires are so dramaticāĀ
corruptedsilenceā:
ā I donāt know.Ā ā Shrugging her shoulders she didnāt know how Duke would be about staying at Nimās house. Missi knew just how ⦠Duke, Duke could be and she didnāt want to ruin the house with their escapades and any attitudes that might be lingering. Not to mention Missiās bias to keep Nim to herself at least for a little bit longer. Right now Nimās house was one of the only safe solace places she had to go off to for a night away from it all that she didnāt share with duke just as Duke could go to⦠wherever Patrick lived.
ā Thatās right. I forgot you knew Artemis⦠didnāt you? I think you remember mentioning it. If you think you could talk to him then thatād be great. I donāt know what is going to be done with Artemis. I would have wanted him to just be thrown out and never come back. . but Hafter made a spectacle of trying to kill him so releasing him now would be I donāt know. Weāre keeping him until heās healed at least.Ā ā
Once Artemis was healed up though, what then? Could Duke even keep the elder vampire in his cage? Already he had tried to play the coy act of getting his freedom from Missi but she already held such biases against him she wouldnāt follow but⦠would Duke be so easily swayed? She didnāt know. For now she just wanted to cuddle up with her witch.
ā Maybe after a nap. Just⦠just a quick one.Ā ā Her eyes grew heavy, resting her head upon Nimās chest and listening to her heart beat.Ā ā Just a few more minutes like this.Ā ā
āWell you know where to find my place if you ever want to come aroundā her hands still playing with Missiās hair the witch would always have an open door for the other. Sure her place wasnāt huge, but it was quiet and well hidden, Nim had been living there for a long time, probably influencing some witch stories which she found quite amusing. Not that anyone would know that she was not only a witch but a very old one at that, being with Eton did have itās advantages after all.Ā
āI know him yes...actually this was one of the reasons why I came here in the first place. I donāt know how much you know about his parents and how they died but I had a hand in itā Nim didnāt see any reason to not be forward with this information after all Artemis knew and Hafter may did too.Ā āI wanted to know what your relations with him are, so I know what to do if he ever decided to come for meāĀ
āI will see if I can get through to him and all the rest we can talk about laterā she said, tone soft as she shifted around getting a bit more comfortable.Ā āA nap sounds goodā Nim agreed continuing to play with the vampire's hair until she was asleep closing her own eyes and starting to dose off.Ā
corruptedsilenceā:
ā I think both of us need to calm down with resurrecting the dead. Heās only brought back Alister. I brought back Duke and Hafter. I was just⦠so tired of no one giving me answers. Clouding everything in mystery. Artemis already admitted he wonāt tell people things if he doesnāt deem them important enough.Ā ā Missi mumbled her grievance all while shifting in her arms and cuddling closer. Taking in a deep breath the sweet smell that seemed to radiate from the woman was always a calming comfort. Not to mention, the feeling of someone playing with her hair was very nice as well.
ā I know, but. The vacation was going to be for Duke and I. I canāt just leave him now after everything. Heās already relapsing a bit with Artemis here, and if I leave now to relax alone with you heāll probably see it as be abandoning him which I donāt want to do.Ā ā Continuing to mumble she let out a small whine and just buried her face against Nim and squeezed her somewhat tightly, trying to cling to her for some more odd but welcoming comfort.
ā I donāt know what to do now. I canāt talk to Artemis to leave Duke alone, last time we just got into a screaming match. ā
āGood thing that you wonāt need his answers, Artemis might have been around for a long time, but he never held the cane. Neither have I of course, but I would wager that I know more than he doesā if anyone deserved to know more about the grief demons it was Missi. She held the cane and while it was objectively better if Des would explain things since each artifact was different but somebody had told her a lot about Anger.Ā
Hugging the other closer as she moved towards her Nim would be more than happy to stay with Missi for however long she needed. She was sure Eton and Des would be happy about a prolonged visit as well, the two always running off with each other as soon as the witch got close to the castle.Ā
āDuke is very much welcome in my home as wellā she added not sure if the other Vampire would even consider coming to her cottage in the woods but at least the offer was out there now.Ā
āI can try and talk to Artemis in your stead if you like me too, It has been decades since I talked to him but I may be able to get through to him.ā taking a few seconds to think Nim let out a hum.Ā āDoes Duke want him to leave? If yes then you could just exile him, you technically do own the land hereāĀ
