Pinged by halfbaked_ziti not rated | 8.3k words Harris hadnāt meant to say anything. He hadnāt even realized what heād said, honestly, until Ilyaās reaction: choking on his beer, eyes bugging out, looking more nervous than Harris had ever seen him look. Why couldnāt he have just kept his mouth shut? He was tipsy, and probably a bit too comfortable, but still. He should have known better. He felt like the biggest asshole alive. Hold on. Rewind. Start from the beginning. Or: Five times Ilya Rozanov set off Harris Drover's gaydar (and Harris said nothing), + one time Harris completely put his foot in it
always next to you by theseheavytimes rated t | 5.7k words Ilya might never step foot in Russia ever again. Might never walk the streets that watched him grow up or hear his native language roll off the tongues of everyone around him. Might never get another chance to visit his motherās grave until the day his bones are laid to rest beside hers. Russia used to be home, where he thought he felt the most like himself. But now? Ilya knows, as Shane holds his gaze with stars in his eyes and those beautiful freckles gleaming in the sunlight, that his home will always be right here in front of him. Back at the cottage after coming clean about their newfound relationship, Shane starts to feel guilty for making Ilya choose between him and the only home heās ever known. For Ilya, though, it was never really much of a choice at all. (Or, Shane learns how to make Ilyaās favorite childhood meal, and Ilya has a lot of feelings about it.)

Below the cut is a floor plan I put together based on what we've seen so far of Buck's new house. Some of it is guesswork since we haven't seen the whole thing yet. Please bear with me.
Post Lawsuit Fics
Not Alone
after the drama with the lawsuit Buck is back but the team are cold and distant or even hostile. Buck tries not to let it get to him but he misses them, especially Eddie who just glares at him. This treatment slowly starts to ware down Buckās hope that they would all reconcile eventually. It leads to Buck either asking for a transfer or doing something worse. Either way the team, especially Bobby and Eddie realize they let things fester to long.
i feel feel ( you leaving )
Buck is back with the 118 but itās definitely not sunshine and daisies. Bobby is hard on him almost to the point of cruelty and the others, especially Eddie follow Bobbyās example. Buck takes it all without complaint knowing he seriously hurt everyone. Other firefighters in the house notice and start picking on Buck too but this one guy wants to seriously hurt Buck for his ādisloyaltyā. He starts cornering Buck and abusing him until one day Eddie stumbles onto the horrifying sight.
we hide the truth ( to spare no one's feelings )
Buck is understandably on the outs with the team despite coming back. They donāt know how much money he turned down and Eddie is still furious with him. Buck tries to hide how much it hurts. Heās also hiding the real truth, that filing the suit was actually to distract the sleezy lawyer from attacking the team. After a nasty row with Eddie Buck decides he needs to leave for a little while. Team finds out the truth and rush after him thinking heās leaving forever. Eddie begs him not to go.
making ( fixing ) mistakes
with things so on the out with his team, Buck no longer thinks they care what happens to him. So when he needs a minor surgery, he doesnāt let anyone know, because he doesnāt believe anyone would care. He only tells Maddie but while at the hospital, Chim calls and eventually Maddie tells him about Buckās surgery. And of course the rest of the team finds out
Saving and Losing
Despite everyone still being angry about the lawsuit, Buck saves Eddie's life on a call and appears to pay the ultimate price. The team, Maddie, and Athena deal with the loss of their Buckaroo. They don't know the hospital has made a huge mistake until Buck nearly gives the ME a heart attack. Now they have to deal with all the feelings losing a member of the FireFam. The guy with sleep paralysis who woke up during autopsy has me wanting to see Buck end up similarly. While the team is shunning him they go on a call and Buck pushes Eddie out of the way of some mystery chemical. He breaths some in and Bobby yells at him. At the station Buck is stuck with chores and then the chemical takes hold and Buck "dies" in some corner. Eddie finds him and everyone is horrified. Buck wakes up right when the doc is about to cut him. Traumatized Buck and guilty fam.
Wish You Were Here (But Youāre Not)
During the time that Buck is on the outs with the team Eddie forbids him from seeing Chris. Buck is devastated but carries on. On his day off through sheer happenstance he walks by the park Carla and Chris are at. To Buck's horror he sees this crazy man knock Carla out and then grab Chris. Without hesitating Buck chases the bad guy down and takes a beating before saving Chris. Buck makes sure Carla and Chris are taken care of before sneaking way, thinking Eddie's gonna be mad at him.
Be Still My Love
During the lawsuit or after, Christopher gets dangerously sick and needs a bone marrow transplant or something like that. Eddie canāt donate but Buck gets tested and is a match. With him on the outs he goes through the process alone and saves Chris. Eddie is furious at Buck for āabandoningā them. When he next sees Buck Eddie says some awful things, Buck just takes it without complaint. Buck nearly dies but when the truth comes out all hell breaks loose. Eddie will do anything to have Buck back
Jet Lag and Second Chances
with everyone mad at him about the lawsuit, Eddie being really cruel, Buck decides to fly somewhere nice for a small break. He misses everyone. On return Buck kindly switches seats with another passenger. Buckās original plane crashes into the ocean. On the news his name is included among the missing. Eddie and the team think Buckās dead. Buck however is oblivious as he flies home safely. At the airport Buck takes a chance and calls Eddie for a ride.
the ache in my chest
the fic in which Buck and Eddie don't make up after Buck's first shift back and it only leads to more hurt
so please don't go
"Well Buck, I have to tell you that I've seen you working and you impressed me. Would you consider joining the 136?" Buck blinked trying to process the information. Or where everyone acts cold around Buck after the lawsuit, especially Eddie, and Buck starts to hang out with the members of the 136.
You Were There And You Saved Me (And I Don't Know Why)
When Buck finds himself in a situation he can't get himself out of, he finds that no matter the tension between them, Eddie always has his back.
The Fall Before the Call
Buck is injured when he is out on a hike and calls for help. He then tries calling Eddie because he needs to hear his voice but Eddie is convinced that Buck is just doing it to trick him into forgiveness and Eddie hangs up. Luckily buck is rescued before he passes out and Buck is at the hospital when Bobby gets the call about him being hurt and everyone realizes Buck wasnāt lying
Healing Through Love
Because of the lawsuit Buck has been struggling in every possible way, but when he is at his worst he gets a call from Chris' school and it changes everything. OR. What if during the lawsuit Buck got a call from Christopher's school because he's listed as an emergency contact and they can't get a hold of Eddie?
The Glue
post lawsuit with everyone mad at Buck, they come across this burnt out jeep with a dead guy in it and they find Buck's ID in the wreckage and everyone thinks Buck is dead. When they get back to the station they look to the upper floor and are stunned because there's Buck playing with Chris, holding him up in the air, beautifully alive and laughing. Eddie breaks the lands speed record getting upstairs and takes both his boys into his arms.
Inside Your Mind
Buck is desolate and heartbroken by the team's harsh treatment after the lawsuit, especially Eddie forbidding him from seeing Chris. One night while he's trying to sleep, Buck finds himself with a gun to his head and a masked man on top of him. The man says he will kill both Eddie and Chris if Buck tries anything as he violates him in the worst possible way. This happens more than once until finally Buck saves some DNA from the guy and goes to Athena, all Hell breaks loose.
Bruises
"It wasn't easy after the lawsuit ended." The FireFam walks in on Eddie about to hit Buck, but it's not what it seems like.
Only You
Eddie is angry at Buck and Buck's just been in a car accident. The only person Buck wants to talk to in this state is Eddie. He doesnāt know what prompts him to do it but one second heās staring at his phone and the next heās dialling Eddieās number. He doesnāt even know if Eddie would answer due to the whole lawsuit.
Let That Lonely Feeling Wash Away
After the fight with Eddie in the grocery store, Buck drops a glass jar and cuts his hand. Buck's just too tired, thinks he's just too tiring, to do anything but buy some gauze and plan on bandaging himself up at home. Buck's not really thinking about the blood thinners he's still on when the blood loss makes him collapse outside the store, right in front of Eddie.
Team Buckaroo
He stopped, when he saw the elevator doors still opened, but with his team (his former team, he supposed) inside. He knew he shouldnāt ask them to hold the doors, that much was clear with the way Eddie and Bobby avoided his gaze. So, he slowed down, hoping the doors would close before he reached them. But then Chimney reached his hand out, stopping the door from closing. Buck paused, surprised by the action. --- Or, after the arbitration for the lawsuit, the 118 begins to realize they've made a few mistakes, especially when it comes to Buck.
We Lived Through the Wreck of Our Hearts
When the door to the supply closet burst open, Eddie skidded to a stop only feet away from them, his blood turning ice cold in his veins. A tall, wild eyed man had an arm wrapped around Buckās neck and a gun pressed to the side of his head
Consequences
Buck returns to work after the lawsuit to find his welcome isn't very warm. Some of the 118 crew are more upset than others and it soon turns violent.
The Third Drawer
After his return to work, Buck feels lost and alone due to the way he's been treated by the people he thought were his family. In order to stop the pain, he begins to hurt himself instead.
Hold Me
Sub!Drop Buck wouldn't it be heartbreaking if after he and Eddie get together for the first time as Dom and Sub after the lawsuit, Eddie is rough and distant and when Buck tries to kiss him or touch him, Eddie snaps at him. He doesn't need to hit him or verbally abuse him, just tell Buck in no uncertain terms that only a good Sub gets to kiss their Dom, making Buck think he's the worst Sub to ever exist. Eddie will have his work cut out trying to undo the damage this does.
we're gonna be okay, kid
The last thing Buck is expecting is to be woken up from his ill advised mid-morning nap with a call from Christopher's school, telling him that Chris is sick and should go home. He can't leave his favourite kid to fend for himself so even though Eddie might get mad at him, again, he's on his way to pick up Chris before he can even think about it.
a leaf falls on loneliness
Buck doesnāt think that if he were to say, āIām in a bad placeā, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesnāt. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that. But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, āyouāre exhausting.ā āyouāre exhausting, youāre exhausting, youāre exhaustingā. So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends heās the care-free goofball heās always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.
Because I Love You
After Bucks lawsuit, the team made it clear that they weren't going to forgive or forget anytime soon, especially Eddie. That all changed one day when Buck came running in, barely getting any words to form before passing out, right there in front of them.
We'll Always Be a Family
Buck's been on the outs since the lawsuit, but when he comes running in one day, needing his team, they'll be there for him. At the end of the day, they'll always be a family.
I'll Cry If I Want To
Buck shook his head, "Eddie I was so insecure back then. I was secretly in love with you. I wanted the approval of everybody. And I thought I had it. And when I could feel all of you slipping out of my grasp...it just made everything feel so much worse than it was. That day when I returned to work...I was so excited. And then I realized nobody wanted me there-". "I know I was an asshole to you but god did I want you there Buck, I promise," Eddie said, "you were always wanted, baby. I'm sorry I didn't always show you that." Or Buck mentions how disappointed he was when the team didn't throw a party for him when he returned to work after the lawsuit. Eddie does something about it.
We'll Figure it Out as We Go
When Buck is finally let on a call, he's relegated to crowd control. Even though his teammates haven't quite accepted him back yet, he still cares about them, so much that he'd do anything to save them, especially Eddie.
Up Where We Belong
After the lawsuit, Buck gets placed with a different firehouse. This is how he finds his way home to the 118āand Eddie.
It Was Always About To Hit Me
More first responders are killed by roadside incidents than by any other means.
No Man is an Island
After the lawsuit fiasco, Buck is still on the outs with his father figure and his best friend. But when an unexpected hostage situation occurs after a routine call, Buck is in bad shape. Can the fire family save him and make amends?
after everything i must confess (i need you)
After the lawsuit gets resolved, Buck and Eddie get stuck in an elevator during Buck's first shift back. Buck, stung by Eddie's icy behavior, forces Eddie to talk to him. or: very clichƩ elevator fic, set immediately post-lawsuit and pre-season 3 episode 6 "monsters." aka: grocery store divorce part 2
Oh, all these colors fade for you only (hold me, carry me slowly)
Eddie looked at the wall behind Buckās head before speaking. āIām sorry.ā āEddie-ā. Eddie tilted his head and that was enough to stop Buck from continuing, and instead he simply just nodded. āIām sorry I made you feel like you couldnāt tell me anything." Or. Buck gets hurt, and he and Eddie have a conversation.
i'm running low on serotonin (chemical imbalance got me twisting things)
When he didn't have Eddie, Buck felt like he was crawling out of his skin. The thing is, he sort of expected it to just go away after he made up with him. (Or, after the lawsuit, Buck is touch starved.)
Clarity
Eddie calls Buck instead Lena to bail him out of jail
The Messiest of the Messy
Irritated, Eddie clenched his fists, starting to turn around. "Why would Buck be eating with us - ". The words died in his throat along with the shatter of the mug against the floor. But Eddie barely noticed he dropped it, his mouth slightly agape as he stared at Buck, took in the bruises, and the blood, and general brokenness of the man before him. ****. Or: After the Lawsuit, Buck is starting to think his team will never forgive him and is feeling lonelier than ever, when his dad shows up, looking for money that Buck doesn't have. Now, his ribs are broken and his face has been pummelled into one big bruise. All he wants to do is retreat to his empty apartment and wallow in his own self-pity, but before that he needs to get his keys, which he'd left at the station the previous night. Everyone else is on shift, so he's hoping he can sneak into the locker room and be gone before anyone notices he was there, but this is Buck, so of course, nothing goes to plan.
I Wish You'd Say You Hate Me Because At Least It Wouldn't Be Silence
After the lawsuit, Hen, Chim, and Bobby all forgive Buck and get back to how they used to be. Eddie stays angry.
i'll be the one to answer when you're calling
Buck's stint as a Fire Marshall comes with some unforeseen side effects. Eddie Diaz is done sitting on the sidelines when his best friend needs him.
Forgiveness is a Powerful Thing
Eddie is the first to talk to Buck about the lawsuit
I need you (I love you)
After a misunderstanding at Christopher's school Eddie realizes it might not be so much of a misunderstanding after all.
Would You Be My Breath? (in the deep, deep water)
Buck gets triggered on a call, and as Eddie helps pull him out of a flashback, he realizes that he isn't the only one who's Not Okā¢. Later that night, the boys finally talk about a little bit of their shared trauma. And on the way home together after their shift ends, Buck has an apology and a confession to share with Eddie, in that order.
Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away
During the lawsuit, Chris is tired of all the lying and the hiding, so he takes matters into his own hands and runs away from home. If no one will take him to see his Buck, well then, he will just have to go see him by himself. Buck was just finishing packing up the last of his things when the doorbell rang, and Chris was standing there looking so happy to see him. If only Chris had waited a little longer, would Buck have been gone for good? Will Chris and the others convince him to stay?
Exhausting
Eddie calls Buck exhausting, and Buck is very hurt.
i'd break for you (if it meant you'd love me)
The lawsuit is over, and Buck is back to work, which means Eddie is forced to face his feelings for the man. He's terrified by how much he loves himāas he doesn't want to be hurt again. And that fear manifests in anger, causing him to lash out with his words. Then after saying something particularly hurtful to Buck, he's back at a place he hasn't visited since he met Buck. But his night is cut short when he sees a sub's signal to stop being ignoredāa sub that turns out to be Buck.
The Bridge
"Dad? I think Buck isn't okay." "Why would you say that, mijo?" "I use 'find my friends' to keep an eye on him sometimes. Since he doesn't come over anymore. You know the bridge we drive over to get to school? Buck's been there for two hours. The weather's really bad. He shouldn't be out there."
They Just Fade Out When You Take a Breath
Post-lawsuit Buck is left totally out of the loop. One day Bobby invites everyone to his house for a bbq, except for Buck. Eddie makes some snide comments and it's the last straw as Buck gets in his face. However, instead of yelling at Eddie, Buck just looks completely shattered as he says " I should have died under that truck, you all would have still been my family then." Everyone is stunned and horrified as Buck then runs off. A terrified and remorseful Eddie and firefam go after him.
After the Lawsuit
On Friday, November 1, 2019, Buck and Eddie finally talk about the lawsuit. They make up but Eddie doesn't tell Buck he's still doing something that could cause him to lose everything.
Losing Hope
Hope can be a powerful force, but what happens when it's lost? Buck and Eddie's love story takes a tragic turn as their relationship ends abruptly after Eddie feels betrayed by the lawsuit. Alone, Buck faces the consequences of their actions when he learns he is unexpectedly pregnant ā then loses the baby. In the midst of his heartbreak and despair, Buck decides to keep a secret that will haunt him forever. With secrets and misunderstandings threatening to tear them apart again, Buck and Eddie must discover whether their love is strong enough to overcome tragedy, or not.
Take her name out of your mouth (you don't deserve to mourn)
I'm just so sick, I can't even look at myself. It's a mental hell when you said. "Come over again,". (When you said). "Come over again,"
secrets I have held in my heart are harder to hide than I thought
Hen jumps out of the ambulance with a hiss. āGeez, Iām sorry, you good Buckaroo ?ā He hums through the pain, feeling Eddieās hand dropping to his lower back in support. āDonāt go suing us again.ā Chimney quips, making them all laugh, Buck included until Ravi tilts his head in obvious confusion. āAgain ?ā Buck freezes, suddenly aware of the fact that he didnāt know about it because it happened so long before he joined. āWhen did you sue them ?ā
sometimes an onion really is just an onion (and thatās all there is to it)
Buck wanted fajitas, so he went to the store for the sweet onions he needed, but he got the wrong kind because he unexpectedly ran into the team, which had nothing to do with why he was crying in his kitchen--obviously, the shitty onions were to blame. And his day just gets worse from there--as he ends up fileting off a strip of skin, bleeding everywhere, then accidentally hitting his talk-to-text and sending a ramble he never meant anyone to hear to the last person on earth to care: Eddie.
there is a swelling storm
after the lawsuit, buck tries to return to a sense of normalcy, but no one else seems to want to. he worries that everyone has moved on and that it's time for him, too, to let go. but he's not ready to let go.
Sixth time's the charm
The mid-lawsuit time loop fic that you didn't know you needed.
you have to say something (you have to do something)
the one where Buck only wanted to be treated fairly like everyone else.
Roaming hands and Large Swells
Buck wanted to go home. He wanted nothing more than to be back with his family and to go home. Things had been rough this last year though, first his leg got crushed, he had a pulmonary embolism, he was told he couldnāt come back to work, and then there was a tsunami. Even with now being allowed back at work after making the mistake of filing a lawsuit, things were still a bit strained. His family and home still felt like they were an armās length out of reach. Then, things get even worse somehow when he and the rest of the team get sent to see Dr. Wells after a particularly rough call.
Almost Too Slow
Isabel Diaz knew that they would lose her Evanito forever if she did not act immediately so she convinced her daughter to use her powers even though Pepa had sworn to never use them again. Will it be enough to save Buck's life and bring him back to his real family or will Eddie still be too slow?
you're exhausting
a post lawsuit fix it, except there's a lot more hurt, because buck's trauma regarding his parents isn't talked about enough. christopher diaz to the rescue.
aināt a drop of bad blood
Buck cries, Eddie apologizes, Eddie cries, Buck apologizes.
All I Ever Want To Do Is This
When Buck returns to work after the lawsuit, he finally understands why Bobby said he might not want to. Being frozen out by the entire team is hard enough, but fending off snide comments from those closest to him is really starting to wear him down. He thought he'd found a family at the 118, but now he's wondering if it's really worth sticking around for. After an argument with his best friend in front of everyone, Buck makes his decision. What he wasn't expecting was for Eddie to show up at his apartment, ready for a confrontation. Will they be able to patch up their friendship, or will it be impossible for them to move past the hurt and anger?
āLeave me Aloneā
A week. Buckās been back to work for a week. Eddieās been trying to hide the fact that heās in an illegal street fighting ring from the person who watches him like a hawk for a week. Eddieās also been trying to ignore Buck for a week, despite his sad puppy act breaking Eddieās heart pretty effectively.
over the edge
He inches slightly as he braces himself on the edge of the roof. Heās ready. More ready, maybe, than heās ever been. The soles of his shoes are pressed flush to the wall of the building and his hands grip the course edge of the building. He looks down at the city commotion, then up at the Big Dipper constellation (the first one he could ever identify as a kid). He feels his heart finally slow down to an acceptably calm rhythm. He closes his eyes. He doesnāt feel anything anymore. He doesnāt hear anything. He doesnāt hear the door the roof open, nor does he hear the blood-curdling scream behind him.
baby, it's halloween (we can be anything)
After Eddie forgives him and after they share that hug, Eddie invites Buck to come spend the night of Halloween with Chris and him, where he belongs. More feelings come to light and everything works out for the better.
Goodbye Note
The letter wrinkles where Eddie holds it a bit too tight. āWhat the fuck does he mean? What the fuck is this supposed to mean?ā
You can kiss it better now, can't you?
Buck goes to the grocery store during the lawsuit. Eddie yells at him but immediately regrets it. When he goes after him to apologize, two robbers with guns are standing in front of Buck. Of course, Buck is injured. But everyone is there for him. Especially Eddie.
Just a Piece of Tape
A piece of tape is all it takes to rock the very foundation of the 118 when an innocent enough incident at work leads to the realization that some wounds between them haven't healed properly quite yet.
A Last Minute Switch, A Lifetime of Relief
Buck is back at work but no longer back in the good graces of his family. Besides Hen, everyone else is still bearing a grudge, especially Bobby and Eddie. Buck decides to take a break and go out of town, but what happens when he comes back to find everything is chaos. A switch at the last second, human error, a switched off phone, and relationships forever changed.
Hard Truths at Howie's
Another run to Howie's grocery store gives Eddie some unexpected incite into how much his blow up at Buck during the lawsuit actually affected not only Buck, but also how people perceive Eddie himself. It's just the push Eddie needs to say things he should have said to Buck a long time ago, and confess some other things he thought he'd never be able to speak.
Weāll build a greater tomorrow
In the middle of the arbitration for the lawsuit, Eddie is informed that, contrary to what Captain Nash has told them, his partner has been cleared to return to duty, but has not been reinstated. He is not pleased.
I hope this isn't a dream this time
After the lawsuit, Eddie finds it difficult to forgive Buck. It takes a conversation with Hen and a nap on the sofa at the fire station to realize how much he needs Buck in his life.
a (not so) stary night
One day, after the lawsuit, and before everyone has explicitly made up, Buck goes and watches the ducks. Eddie finds him and eventually they talk
Broken and Blue
Eddie hasn't talked to Buck since he came back to work after the lawsuit, without any reason. That is until, on a Saturday night he comes knocking on Buck's door, broken and bruised.
Exhausting. Infuriating. Yours.
After the lawsuit, Eddie Diaz has stopped talking to his best friend. He also ends up punching a guy who is an asshole to the said best friend. Eddie Diaz is a hypocrite, ladies and gentleman.
The Darkeness Won't Have You
After the whole debacle with the lawsuit Buck is shunned from his family and isolated at the firehouse. Fate just piles it on as a route check up turns into waiting on test results to see if he actually has a life threatening illness. Could this be the catalyst to everyone patching things up? Or will it be the final straw for Buck?
Fairy Of Shampoo
Eddie and Buck are still on bad terms due to the lawsuit but what happens when Buck rings Eddie desperately asking for help?
I swam a lake of fire (where are you when I can't be?)
Okay, maybe it was his own fault. Buck became a bit distracted, thinking about his relationships within the 118. So damn him, if suddenly tears welled up in his eyes. Buck was alone. Again. And maybe he really deserved that. That was of course the moment when the knife slipped.
Never say never
Buck throws another clot, calls the 118 & Maddie out on their shit, lets Athena hold him as he cries, and then finally talks to Eddie.
You're Losing Me (From the Vault)
after the lawsuit, the team keeps ignoring Buck, so he does something drastic. His family comes to his rescue.
I Would Fly Across the World to Find You
What if after Eddie blew up at him in the grocery store, Buck decided to run away?
The person that you'd take a bullet for is behind the trigger
He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, making him jolt and causing him to lose his path on Mario kart. "Aha," Hen cheered at her victory waving her arms in the air. He stood up, taking his phone from his pocket. Durand School Calling... "Hello," Eddie said. "Hi, is this Mr Diaz?" The voice on the end was Mrs Howell, the receptionist. Eddie felt his hairs raise. "Yes, what's up with Christopher?" He thought back to the morning when dropping him off. Christopher had seemed fine, slightly more subdued but he'd had a bad cold. That's all it was. A cold. "Mr Diaz, your son felt ill whilst in first period. He then vomited on the floor, and fainted. He's just being loaded into the ambulance, they're heading to First Presbyterian." She replied. "Eddie, what's up?" He heard Bobby and looked up to see him walking closer. Hen, Chim and Buck were all looking at him in concern. "It's Chris," He noticed Bucks eyes widening in concern. "He's being taken to hospital. I-I need to go Bobby,"
Now that we don't talk
Eddie delivers groceries to Buck (on Maddies request) during the lawsuit.
Cora OcƩano
During the lawsuit, Buck canāt take the loneliness of the loft anymore. So he takes a trip to an old stomping ground without telling anyone.
Don't do it again
Going through multiple near death experiences leaves scars. Going back to work was supposed to make everything magically better, yet Buck still finds himself struggling with his mental health. His need to be accepted. He struggles alone. Until he can't hide it anymore.
That's what my love is for
In this universe, Buck is diagnosed with cancer after the arbitration. Read along to find out what else changes.
Step by Step
As he got to the top of the stairs, Eddie was coming up and gave him a brush with his shoulder. It riled him up and he turned around. "What is your problem Diaz, I know what I did to yous, betraying your trust. I've said I'm sorry countless times, I've proved that I'm sorry. Everyone else has forgiven me. Why haven't you?" He folded his arms. "You're such a selfish bastard. All those I's, you don't care about me, you don't care about Christopher. All you care about is yourself, the lawsuit proved that." Eddie was pissed off, looking like he wanted to punch Buck.
Realizing the Truth
Buck doesn't understand why Eddie took the lawsuit so personally.
I Love You So (Please Let Me Go)
post lawsuit, Buck goes to bar, hoping to drink away his misery but accidentally gets caught up in a fight. Heās pretty sure his armās broken so he canāt drive so that leaves only one other option. Calling Eddie
What Family
Buck speaks his piece and asks for a transfer, and Eddie gains insight and understanding. Maybe they just need to kiss and make up.
and it hits me
eddie discovers the real reason he was so upset with buck during the lawsuit arc
As long as you'll have me
Where Buck and Eddie actually talk it out after Buck is allowed back at the firehouse for light work duty. Angst and confessions and soft feelings ensue.
Empty Chairs at Empty Tables
Bit by bit, Buck stopped. It began with the little things. First, he stopped checking his phone when he woke up. He used to do it everyday. Heād check for notifications on Chimneyās instagram, or maybe a new message from the 118 group chat. It wasnāt that anyone other than him texted at one in the morning, but sometimes heād sleep past one of Capās old-timey GIFs or whatever. Sometimes, Athena would text and greet him good morning. And a few weeks into knowing him, Chris would send a morning message begging for help, normally because Eddie was trying to make pancakes again. So, with everything going on, Buck always made it a point that the moment his eyes opened, he would check his phone. Until the first week after the lawsuit, and for the seventh day in a row, there wasnāt anything there except a pitfall in Buckās stomach. Nothing. Never. Not even a quick āhelloā. So, Buck ceased checking his phone. After all, why did he even need to?
I Miss Being Alone (When It Didn't Mean Being Alone)
Buck hates the new grocery store he goes to.
Could Have Followed My Fears All The Way Down
In 2019, Buck writes a letter and sits on the edge of his roof, but he doesnāt jump. He never tells anyone about how close heād come. In 2024, in the midst of packing up the loft so Buck can move in with him and Christopher, Eddie finds the letter.
Please, love me again
When Buck returns to the 118 after the lawsuit, he thinks he can finally make everything good again. All he wants is for his family to love him again. But it's too late, they hate him, he hurt them too much, he is all alone now.
Man Down
2 months after the lawsuit, Bobby finally lets Buck out on a call, where he gets hurt. Scared of being pulled from calls again, Buck tries to hide the injury.
Blood Is Thinner Than Water (Alternate Ending)
Buck is home alone after the lawsuit, and accidentally cuts himself while on the blood thinners. But this time, when he calls for help, someone picks up.
Who to Call When Youāre on the Edge?
Buck feels all alone in the middle of the lawsuit with no one to talk to. Wanting to do something stupid, he tries to stop himself by calling Christopher ā just to hear him talk about his day ā hoping itāll make it stop. Instead, Eddie overhears and Buck still gets hurt, but heās not as alone as he thinks.
give up the fight
Despite the rules of the lawsuit, when Eddie gets arrested, he calls Buck to bail him out. Buck shows up, of course.
Shared Custody
āChrisāā Buck starts but this time he is interrupted. āNo! We already missed the museum last week and dad said you were busy, but youāve never missed before! Andā and Iā did I do something wrong?ā Chrisās voice tapers off and Buck can feel the tears forming in his eyes.āNo.. no you didnāt do anything wrong I promise.ā āSo then why canāt we go to the zoo?ā Chris asks. Buck bites his lip, chewing on the poor thing before he makes a decision, one that might come back and bite him in the ass later but what else could he possibly have to lose? Chris is still reaching out, Chris misses him. Chris is sad. Itās the easiest choice heās made in weeks. āYou know whatāā Bucks breathing is a little fast, he feels like heās going to pass out or away he doesnāt know, āIām coming to get you.ā

Heyy, I love your works (like, literally)! I just watched Fantastic Four and after seeing Quinnās Johnny story, I realized that he is FINEEE (because whenever I looked at him before, Iād always just remember those cringe Eddie baby TikToks). Anyway, would it be alright to request an angst-to-comfort fic where the reader is part of the team and flirts with Johnny (which makes her think thereās something between them)? Then Shalla-Bal shows upāand you know what happensāhe starts flirting with her instead. The reader gets sad or angry, and then you decide what happens next. <3

Team Phantom all have an inside joke where they refer to Dani as Dannyās daughter, while also calling Vlad an absentee mother who doesnāt pay child support.
Eventually Dannyās at the Justice league space station and hears some of the senior members talking about how the current Robin has attempted to stab a multiple people.
Danny curiously asks them about Robin and eventually they tell him heās 11 and he just accidentally blurts out that his daughterās around robins age.
The league members, stare at āeternally a teenagerā Danny and go through mini existential crisis about the member that looks like a child having a child of their own. One of them asks if his daughterās adopted and Danny says that sheās biologically his.
They ask about her mother or other parent and he says that if his daughters āmotherā paid child support then he could have a say in things.
Eventually the conversation gets to Batmanās ears and he corners Phantom, not for learning sensitive information about Robin, but for parenting tips.
Now Dannyās giving Batman advice on how to treat/care for a surprise ex-assassin child with an absentee criminal āmotherā who obsesses over their childās father.
I want them to get in a fight with vlad and their bantering, then some of the JL show up when Danny is joking about paying child support and the league is just like
