Okay so more thoughts on the Jinu-sized elephant at the end of the movie;

(And like I get that tonally, the movie as is can't really support addressing the hundreds/thousands of dead people but like... *why did you have your main love interest kill hundreds/thousands of people if you weren't actually going to do anything with it*)

And like, the movie explicitly states that missing persons have doubled or tripled during the time the Saja Boys were active.

And that's before an entire train of people "go missing"

And those people are still going to be missing after the movie.

And I can't imagine that Rumi's feelings towards Jinu are going to be any kind of simple once she's removed from the immediate emergency of imminent demon invasion and has to see grieving families on the news and on social media and the vigils for the victims and the inevitable conspiracy theories about the government/foreigners trafficking people

One part of her wanting Jinu back and another part, seeing a mother passing out flyers about her missing children (they were on the subway heading to school, please, her son had a Huntr/x hoodie), wondering if he deserves another shot at life

(Everyone else got one life, why did he deserve more?)

Had a good birthday yesterday, so here's a new prompt for you all.

Maddie has kept something secret from her family.

She is a trained assassin and killer. Though she left that life behind when she met Jack.

She changed her name, found an acquaintance (Alicia) who will keep her secret, and changed her appearance to blend in.

She indulges in Jack's ghost theory.

And then it is proven to be true.

And that both scares and excites Maddie.

It scares her because she might come across vengeful ghosts of those she's killed in her past life, and excites her because of finding something new to call her own.

Vlad is a good guy, really, but he's become too much like her father recently.

And then there's Phantom.

She knows that her son is Phantom. But she chose not to approach him about it. Instead, she will continue to act like Phantom is just a ghost so her son can learn new ways to defend himself from danger.

This was how she was raised, in a way. She wasn't showed parental love when she was younger. Just told to be strong or die. Jack taught her love and inadvertently showed her that her life before this was not a good life for her.

Zoey suffering for thinking she's not capable of fulfilling her role as an alpha, Mira because she can never be omega society tells she should be meanwhile Ruy "I was never properly socialized as a child" Rumi doesn't have such ingrained conceptions and would be living her best lives but instead she's there soothing her mates and cursing the world for making them suffer so much .

Not only was Rumi not socialized, she also didn’t have the same pressure placed on her that Mira and Zoey did for their respective presentations.

Mira’s parents were thrilled (at first) when she presented as an omega, because that meant they could marry her off to some alpha entrepreneur who would partner with the family and help boost their business, and maybe “domesticate and train her to be a proper lady and omega”, which is part of what made her so distrusting of alphas (especially stereotypical ones) at first, and made her so averse to mating with one. They tried to make her into a more traditional omega and would punish her for not behaving like one, and that, plus their insistence on her finding an alpha to mate with of their choosing, made her eventually run away and do everything in her power to not be a traditional omega. Once she actually became mated to two people she loves and respects and knows love and respect her in return, though, the desire to become that traditional omega at certain points rears its head, but by that point she’s already become too little like it to properly embrace the role.

And of course I’ve already gone over why Zoey is so anxious about her presentation.

Celine, however, despite being an alpha herself, had no such intentions of making Rumi believe omegas ought to be any particular thing, and did her best to help her through her early heats by providing her with whatever resources she needed, as well as making sure to only get her doctors who, through extremely in depth research, she knew were very omega friendly. She never made Rumi feel like she needed to fit a mold, and because of that, while Rumi obviously still has her hangs up regarding intimacy and identity, all of that is to do with her patterns and nothing to do with her presentation.

Skyrim Rumi

Rumi is daughter to Mi-yeong and a daedra making her half daedra (she has a daedra heart, can manifest horns (more of a thing she does as a baby) and has burn patterns extending out from her heart that slowly grow and wrap around her body as she gets older).

Mi-yeong is the court mage of Whiterun and her housecarl is Celine (“I am your sword and shield”). Both do everything they can to keep Rumi’s daedra heritage a secret or else the Vigil of Stendar will come (iykyk).

Thirdlight replaces Alva of the companions. This makes her a werewolf and she joins Mi-yeong’s and Celine’s relationship before Rumi is born—giving the half daedra three guardians (a mage, a warrior, and a werewolf)

Rumi grows up in Dragonsreach keeping her patterns covered. She shadows her mother around the castle and doesn’t play too often with the Jarl’s own kids—she was told to be careful at all time by all three of her parents.

She gets to see, and sometimes meet the nobles who visit. This includes powerful clans like the Black-Briar family from Riften—who have a pink haired daughter about Rumi’s age.

While little Rumi got to meet a lot of upper-class folk, she liked the locals more. She the got to help the farmers unload their deliveries from just outside the walls of Whiterun. She’d run trinkets down to the blacksmith and be fascinated by how they could work the metal. Sometimes when Mi-yeong was short on specific alchemy ingredients, Rumi would accompany her down to the local apothecary. Mi-yeong let her rummage around the non-toxic ingredients and they’d stop to smell every flower in the store.

Thirdlight helped hone Rumi’s sword fighting skills in the practice area by the Companions’ Longhouse. Wooden swords and straw dummies limited Rumi until she grew a bit older. Once she could wield an iron sword Celine took her down to the blacksmith and they watched her first sword get forged.

One of those local farmers had a daughter a year or so younger than Rumi. She was smaller and much scruffier than the Jarl’s kids Rumi was was used to. But that didn’t stop her from working as hard as her little body could.

Rumi and Zoey got to see each other grow up with every delivery the farmers made. Zoey grew up a little but Rumi grew up a lot. She grew to be much taller and broad-shouldered than when the two first met as children. Rumi gains a soft spot for Zoey. There was just something about the younger that made Rumi want to be around her whenever she could.

Rumi’s parents could only smile knowingly at their child’s innocent budding young love. Mi-yeong quite liked Zoey, but she worried about her daughter’s safety more. Mi-yeong, Celine, and Third all encouraged Rumi to have fun with Zoey but to keep her secret safe all the same. No one could know Rumi was a half daedra, for her own safety.

There was once a day both the Black-Briars and Zoey were up at Dragonsreach for business. Rumi got to introduce Mira to Zoey. They played in the kitchen until the staff kicked them out. Then they went into the rafters above the throne room. Once they were kicked out of there too they went outside, where they proceeded to exhaust themselves running wild around the upper-city. Mira admits to never having had this much fun before meeting the two of them. Blushing ensues.

The subtitles do really good work at conveying tone and mood here, but it's worth having sound on just for the noise he makes when she gets out of it.

Polytrix pattern reveal but it's because Rumi fucking used her horns as a battering ram when Zoey and Mira were stuck in a room because the demons locked them in it.

Polytrix pattern reveal but Rumi's singing her own song and screams at the demons as part of a plan, proceeds to be on fire (Honmoon fire or just fire that looks purple), and sends the demons back like a fucking banshee scream (That may or may not include multiple curse words and insults... to their bloodlines.)

Now Danny wanted a pet to gaurd his apartment in Gotham, so he found a trusted realms breeder, got well-versed in their care, and got a young hydra!

It was a pygmy hydra, they usually grow to the size of a American schoolbus, not too big, and they take a LONG TIME to grow!

His baby, named her Zuri, had only one head, because do you know how UNETHICAL it is to chop a hydra's head off just to have more heads? It's like cropping the tail of a doberman and making the ears of the dog stand straight up!

But Zuri is an ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART!

Now you can imagine his surprise when he got home with Zuri having THREE NEW HEADS.

He immediately went into cooing, petting each head(thank you shapeshifting!) with the same amount of love as he did with one head.

Whoever chopped of his babie's heads not once but THREE TIMES will meet an enraged Ghost King.

On Saturday I said to my partner, as I have said for months, "A ten thousand dollar a year raise would solve so many of my problems."

As of this morning I was reluctantly looking for jobs because I love my job and don't want to leave it, but see: $10k raise problem solver.

As of noon today this was no longer an issue, because my boss called me with the news that I was getting a $10K merit raise.

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is roughly $200 extra per paycheck. Enough to pay off debt faster, rebuild my savings, and spend a weekend a month in Milwaukee getting obscenely laid. The sex I'm going to have on $200 extra per paycheck. You can't even.

May all of you get the $10K raise your soul has yearned for. And whatever level of sex you can be satisfied with for $200.
