Jo’s arm felt like it was made of lead when she lifted it. She fumbled a little, but managed to tug the door open.

    “Got any blankets? Unless you want me to get blood on your baby’s seats?”

She caught the door with a foot and half-kicked it the rest of the way open. She gently set Jo down on the seat, making sure the other woman was fully in the car before standing up. “I’ve probably got something.”

She covered the distance to the trunk in a couple strides, opening it and sorting through weapons and magical implements before she pulled out a fluffy towel, likely jacked from some hotel in Middle America. She folded into a workable pad as she went back to Jo. “No dying, okay?” she said, gingerly lifting the wounded leg and sliding the pad underneath. There was some blood on the seat, but that much would wash off.

headcanon 1: prayers for the damned

Dianna has never been much for prayer of the “Our father who art in heaven” variety. It may be her complicated relationship with her own poisoning the patriarchal idea of a god for her. It may also be her general and more recent experience of an absentee God validating a basic assumption that He doesn’t care about His creation.

Instead, she holds one sided conversations with her mother, fully aware since childhood that Mary probably can’t hear her anyway. What started as a girl needing her mom turned into a method of talking through her issues and trying to find some kind of wisdom. In short, she prays. It’s a private thing---people outside the Winchester family generally aren’t privy to that fact. John didn’t approve and tried get her to stop. And it’s entirely possible that Sam sees it as one of his sister’s few semi-healthy coping habits.

All of that thinking aside, she took a breath sat down on the bed and ran her fingers over the charms on the bracelet. “Mom, where ever you are, I need you to know I’m sorry. I’ve screwed up, as usual. I tried. I did. But---but I wasn’t there in time and I couldn’t stop---”

She heard the door open and clamped her mouth shut for a moment, observing the person intruding on her space. “What can I do ya for?” she asked, resting her head on clasped hands.

So what do you do when the world as you know it is ending?

All end of the world jokes aside, if I’m slow, there is a six-log (99.9999%) chance that it has to do with the weird job-purgatory I’m in at the moment. I’m doing my damndest to work full time at a restaurant AND find an engineering job.

On work days, I get home, I’m a bit tipsy (fuck yeah shift drinks!), and my primary goals for writing are busting out a couple cover letters that I’ll edit the next morning.

Currently, I’m using RP as a reward for writing cover letters (because they are the worst) and editing them and for completing online job applications (the second worst). Basically, I get to write one reply for each of the above actions. (And on my days off I so far tend to wallow in self-pity and watch Buffy because I am a mature adult like that.)

So yeah, it’s just a bit of mess in my life at the moment and if I’ve let our thread hang out for more than say three days FOR THE LOVE OF THE COSMOS LET ME KNOW. I’m not trying to drop anything, I promise.
