Those of you following Sweet Oxen on Twitter may have seen the odd wedding related tweet, but generally speaking I didn't have much time in the weeks before the wedding to think about anything else, let alone share the details with you!
Dave and I got engaged in March 2013 while on holiday in Snowdonia, Wales. We knew we would love an early summer wedding, and wanted enough time to save and organise the wedding so aimed for Spring/Summer 2015.
We fell in love with the venue (Pendrell Hall in Staffordshire, close to both our parents and lots of friends and family), so booked it straightaway, even though the venue was still being renovated! Because we had seen the amazing job the team had carried out so far we could trust that the rest would be just as incredible, and it was! Oak panelling with ornate carvings, stained glass and copper accents, beautiful bay windows (the ideal spot for past family wedding photographs and jars of wild flowers), soft blue walls and large mirrors and of course the huge ballroom with it's beautiful windowed ceiling, perfect for the meal and party.
We had a truly special day, even though it went remarkably quickly! It felt quite surreal at moments, but I really will remember it for the rest of my life. Everyone seemed to have an amazing time, there was lots of crazy dancing in the evening and silly photo-booth fun. We were also incredibly lucky that the sun came out for the majority of the day with only a little rain during the night - thank you weather gods..
