Magic is real, in all earnestness. It's just that it moves slowly, one day at a time, so we don't notice it.
Potions might not be real exactly as in fiction, but have you ever thought about how a hearty stew can give you the strength and stamina to get work done? How hot chicken soup can alighten your spirit, even thought a cold's trampling all over your chest and face? How lavender tea can help calm down an anxious heart?
Superpowers like they appear in comics aren't real, yet, there are peeps who can turn wool into sweaters, mend broken bones and bodies, deadlift trees and rocks. Wizards are very real and as any wizard worth their salt aught to say; with enough willpower, persistence and time, you could learn to do these slow summonings too.
Unicorns, dragons, mermaids and fairies of fables and fairytales might not be real per se, but then again, all of these types of deer, elk, moose, gazelle are right there? And so are draco lizards? Whales don't exactly look like mermaids, but they sure do sing like them. And all bugs are fairies, clearly. We're just so used to all these critters and creatures, that we forego so much of the magic that all the flora and fauna out there has to offer.
We could be pouring over all these ancient scriptures and poems, trying to conclude whether or not supernatural beings are real, but I will say this; the fates think they are very funny, and they are not above taking the trivial little haha you told yourself and turning it real, for better or for worse. Beware the fates, cuz they're bored as hell. (To be fair, they might just be out to get me tho, since I make them the scapegoats for all my mishaps and tragedies)
And at this point you might be thinking 'most of this just sounds like perspective, with some placebo sprinkled in...' To which I say; Yes! You get it! The magical spectacles that let you see the unseen are right there, in your mind's eye. You've just got to shift your perspective a little.
(Just don't slip too far into Quixotism though, or you'll have the ghost of Miguel de Cervantes coming around to yell at you about how your're making your choosen fandom look oh so bad. The yelling will never end, I can promise you that xP)
(A sidenote; Perspective's also a powerful wardant against misery. A thing might be bad, but a lot of times it's only wholeheartly so when you believe it to be.)
