The letter is titled To the Grieving Momma on her blog, Scribbles and Crumbs. It reads: "Oh, sweet momma… I am so, so sorry you are here. I know this is your worst nightmare realized. I know this wasn't plan A, B, C, or Z. I know the weight of it all is suffocating, soul crushing, devastating, and earth-shattering in every way possible. I know you would trade it all just for one more moment. I know your heart is broken. How I wish I could make you feel at home again. How I wish I could take away the pain. How I wish I could place that baby back in your arms. You could watch them grow. All the giggles, skinned knees, and eskimo kisses. I know you would savor every moment. I know you would breathe that baby in till you no longer had any breath in you. I know you would give every ounce of you to save every ounce of them, one thousand times over. I know you miss them. I know you wish you could just smell them one more time, see their face one more time, kiss that squishy cheek and then freeze that moment so it would last forever. cLEfT’s Fix This! Cleft Lip and/or Palate is a birth defect that can be detected while a baby is still in the womb. Why does this happen? The CDC has reported on important findings from research studies about some factors that increase the chance of having a baby with an orofacial cleft:

1. Smoking during pregnancy

2. Diabetes―Women with diabetes diagnosed before pregnancy have an increased risk of having a child with a cleft lip with or without cleft palate and

3. Use of certain medicines

Always consult with your obstetrician if you feel your bae bae is at a higher risk of this birth defect. Make sure to get your 20 week ultrasound, because the sooner this could be detected, the sooner you can take a constructive approach which would consist of educating yourself about this birth defect and per the Craniofacial Association recommends treatment and services by a Cleft and Cratioteam. Cleft and craniofacial teams provide a coordinated approach to care for children with orofacial clefts. These teams usually consist of experienced and qualified physicians and health care providers from different specialties that in almost all cases will need surgical intervention. The best thing you can do as a parent is use this time to find a Cleft and Cranioteam that you feel the most comfortable with. Shop around!

Follow me for for the my latest blog updates, promoting pediatric health and wellness & the realities of real life, day in and day out from me, any everyday who does not portray life as all glitz and glam but the hardships of everyday life with a story of how I survived the death of a child, high conflict divorce, mental and emotional abuse, parental alienation, bullying from family court, struggles of child support, denied an education, high conflict 8 year custody battle, legal abuse, choosing to detach myself from my children’s school in fear advocating for my boys will in turn be a disservice for my boys, scrutinized by family court, alleged to be a peeping Tom, and much more. I smile because I have no more tears to cry. I laugh because I refuse to breakdown. I keep fighting the good fight because giving up is not an option and I am not a victim but rather a survivor.
