Why the hell is Tumblr on mobile so fucking bright
Just to make a point, every time I finished a panel of this I would export it as a PNG on the perceptual setting and use it as a color reference for the next panel
IT'S BAD
PLEASE CHECK YOUR COLOR SETTINGS
EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN ITS NOT JUST A MAC PROBLEM
GUYS IT HAPPENS WITH KRITA TOO
is there like….a way to check how to do that for procreate?
cause I’ve noticed the same thing so I’ve just been eye picking colors for like…two years now
THERE IS!
ive been noticing the EXACT SAME PROBLEM whenever i would export an image from procreate and it drove me CRAZY that my art would desaturate all the time. anyway, if you're in a canvas, go to settings > canvas > canvas information > color profile
once youre in color profile, if your current color profile is display P3, CHANGE IT!!!!!! it is desaturating your colors. you're gonna want to change it to sRGB IEC6 1966-2.1 instead
if you're starting a new canvas, you can just go to color profile and change it that way. im SO grateful for this post for giving me the push i needed to experiment with procreate files and finally see what was changing my art to be so desaturated
like LOOK at this!!!!
anyway yeah. tldr if youre using procreate, make sure your color profile is sRBG IEC6 1966-2.1
Hi
Tumblr on mobile is so confusing.
NPCs in Skyrim just…tell you their whole life story in passing. You don’t even have to talk to them they really just go “my husband was murdered my a mountain troll” and walk right past you
Just like working retail
I guess I’m a mage/monk. Fairly accurate, really.
to this day i am flat-out stunned by the way the pirates of the caribbean theme PERFECTLY evokes a jaunty swashbuckler riding atop the bowsprit of a magnificent—yet foreboding!—18th century galleon, from whose mainmast the jolly roger flaps spectacularly in a high wind. like? how’d you do it? some cellos? how.
both of these are how ur cat feels about being in ur bedroom

I’m so tired of every show that takes place in the past (wild west, medieval, pirates etc) ALWAYS having so much sexual violence towards women like writers can cry “oh it’s realism” all you want but it’s very transparent how realism only applies when you want to hurt women on screen. If we’re talking staying realistic, why doesn’t everyone have brown teeth? Or bad skin? Or dying of dysentery? Just admit y'all want an excuse to brutalize women on screen lol
This pisses me off so much. A lot of the time if you mention realism would also involve women having unshaved legs or pits, or bushy eyebrows, or syphilis, the answer is often “well that’s gross, no one wants to read about/see that” and like…. If you think that women being ugly is grotesque, but brutal depictions of rape aren’t, then I don’t really know what to say to you other than stay the fuck away from me.
One of my favorite animation stories is when Disney hired a group of female animators to work on Snow White and like this was a huge deal, it was Snow White, it was going to be the very first full-length American animated movie, it would go on to win a special Oscar designed just for it (they didn’t know that at the time of production, obviously, but this is how groundbreaking the movie was). And obviously this was back in the 1930s so everything was hand-drawn and hand-inked but…because they had the actual physical cels right there in front of them, they could put whatever they wanted to on the paper, I don’t know about you all, but I feel like I definitely take that for granted. You think ‘pencil, ink, paints’ and that’s it. And apparently Walt Disney had that mindset too because he was confused by the texture of the makeup on Snow White’s face and so he asked his female animators and they were just like, “Sir, we used our actual makeup” like these animators actually did Snow White’s makeup which is mind-blowing enough but then you realize that there were over 250,000 cels in Snow White and okay, sure, only a fraction of those cels actually featured a closeup of Snow but it’s still insane to think that we’re looking at somebody’s real blush here (once you see it, you can’t un-see it):
Animation, man.
