“..no.” she moved back to cross her arms over her chest. “mama told me they went on a trip, that’s all i know.” she stared up at the other with a small frown. “are they in trouble, again?” she asked quietly while squinting her hues, lips pursing into a thin line. emphasis on again. she was aware they often got hurt on the job, and the bad people – monsters, she calls them, hurts her uncle and papa which upsets her greatly.

She took a quick glance around as she capped the bottle again and set it to the side. Nope, there was nothing suspicious to see here, not at all. She turned her attention back to Mary as she took her sip, unable to not smile with her because she just looked so happy to be having that experience. She also couldn’t help the warm chuckle that escaped her at her words.

“Well, I wouldn’t say that.” She replied with a shake of her head, “I had my first taste of alcohol when I was your age too, I still wasn’t really an adult. But at least you’re getting to try it in a safe space. I had my first taste at a party.”

she smiled while she continued to sip at it, feeling like an ‘adult’ was one of the best things in the world. she hummed looking down. “..it’s kinda cool, i don’t know the big fuss about it..” she trailed off glancing up with soft eyes. “i get my parents wanna protect but but i feel suffocated..” she huffed.

Alison squinted at her for a moment, unsure if she was being truthful about her age, as Mary obviously wanted her to say yes, she might say she was older to try to convince her. She would have done the same in her shoes so she didn’t really blame her if that was the case. But, she also didn’t want to accidentally give rum to a fifteen-year-old either. Because, well, she wasn’t her mom. But it was better for Mary to try alcohol in a safe environment rather than her drinking it for the first time at a party without supervision. 

“Fine.” She relented, grabbing the bottle of rum near her and unscrewing the cap. She paused, pointing at her. “Only one glass. No more. Deal?”

She smiled beaming while holding the cup out letting her pour it into her cup while soon pulling it back towards herself looking into it with a little grin. She sat back against the chair and she glanced up again .”Deal!”

She brought the cup towards her lip taking a smaller sip while licking her lips glancing over scrunching her nose up giggling. “It burns kinda..” she then continued to sip at it while inhaling closing her eyes murmuring. “I’m an adult now..”

She eyed the younger girl cautiously. This was a potentially dangerous situation. If her parents found out, she’d be in deep shit. But at the same time… She could understand wanting to try it. Hell, she’d been there before as a teenager. Wanting to try it and not being able to. Regardless of how much her father trusted her, Alison didn’t get her first taste of alcohol until she was at a party. And that was the same party she’d lost her virginity at. Shit had escalated quickly and went downhill from there.

“You know that your parents would kill me if they found out, right?” She responded, her expression pointed. Even as she said that though, she knew she was thinking about it. 

She let out a resigned breath, before leaning back in her seat some, regarding her, “How old are you again?”

She shrugged gently while resting her hand onto her chin. “Seventeen.” she gazed her with raised eyebrows. “So is that a yes?” she gazed at her with widened bambi doe eyes. “Please please please?” she giggled while feeling hope spring in her chest.
