I came up to my room to put on my wedding dress. I knew exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want. My dress has always been a part of my dream wedding, the thing that I have always been sure of, a bandeau-shaped dress, with a heart-shaped bustier, that would hug my chest without being very too much. A slightly shiny ivory white color, the contrast with my coffee complexion would have been breathtaking to everyone, tight in the right place. It was sexy and sophisticated at the same time. I also imagined a trumpet hem that would flow down a 3-foot train that followed me like the princess my dad and Rick loved often called me. And to finish off a beautiful veil that would embellish the centerpiece, now that I admired my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't believe the realization of my vision. My desire had come true, even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined, I could see the three women in my life filled with emotions, I turned slightly to my left then to my right, inspecting all the angles. “Michy, you are breathtaking, girl. I can't take it,” said Andrea full of emotion. “Oh, yeah really a work of art, Maggie did good, but you? You’re taking my breath away,” added Sasha, giving me a wide smile. I was beautiful, perfect. My biggest regret was the absence of my father, that he was not here to see this day. Becoming the woman that I am and not seeing one of my childhood wishes come true, my heart sank in my chest, my mother and I shared the same thoughts. Maggie did a wonderful job, it's even more realistic, more beautiful than anything I imagined as a child. “Thank girls. Mama I really wish daddy was here to see me.” I was trying to control my emotions so as not to ruin my makeup, but everyone cries at weddings. It's a known fact and my emotions were all over the place, and not necessarily positive things. I wiped a tear that ran down my mom's cheek, she followed my gesture with her delicate hand on mine and closed her eyes. She must have seen Papa's face again.
So, I had to write a little Richonne Christmas tale! I hope y’all enjoy! Happy Holidays!
