Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have donated $26 million to charities, a rep announced, prior to their wedding.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have donated $26 million to at least 20 charities this week, a representative announced, in advance of a wedding reported to be taking place this weekend in New York.
The pair have still not officially acknowledged that nuptials are about to take place, and even the announcement of the charitable efforts does not mention the wedding, though it’s clear that the donations are part of this week’s celebrating.
The 20 charities include a number of food banks in different cities, educational programs and children’s hospitals or medical programs.
The announcement simply says, “This week, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift donated $26 million to charities across the United States. They include the following…”

Also say what the fuck you what about how Taylor Swift should be taxed (she is taxed, they invented a whole ass tax for her in Rhode Island) and I agree she should be. But ON TOP OF THAT, every single one of these charities she and Travis just donated to is related to a place she lives or has lived. She is literally paying into her community! Directly!!

also before it starts - from ur friendly public sector worker there are absolutely limits on how much you should reasonably give to one organization. for most public sector financing and accounting, someone writing a check for $50 million is actually more of a problem than it is a help because the org will not have the capacity to spend it but "saving" it is incredibly difficult and can be very complicated for medium to small organizations. it's a lot of accounting and weirdness and the org might not have the staff to even do that. it's also not great for building a sustainable budget, which is something that other funding orgs will be looking for when they go out for other grants, etc. that's why nonprofits you donate to will vastly prefer $5 a month over $100 at once - they can build a budget around a reliable $5 a month. they can't do that if they're just hoping and waiting for $100 at a time here and there. the best practice for giving a significant sum to an organization is to work with the organization and determine how much they can reasonably receive that will pass through an audit and support their budget and operations. that might be $100K, it might be $100M, but it's up to the org! massive amounts at once are usually not the best! demanding to know why someone doesn't give $100M at once just proves you don't know what you're talking about!

It's so funny how people will say they can't enjoy Taylor's music because it's Taylor, like they can't divorce it from that context, but they'll swear she's making tradwife music because she said she wants marriage and kids and conveniently none of that is context dependent like. We're talking about a woman who HAS an insane career and has basically achieved professional success to heights no one else in her field ever has by any possible measure. So to be clear, it's not that it's not that deep or that Swifties are pretending there are no metaphors here, it's that your interpretation is simply incorrect and you're ignoring the very obvious metaphors that do exist in favor of some weird interpretation that you think makes your dislike of the album and/or Taylor morally correct.
