Benedict Cumberbatch To Receive Zurich Film Festival’s Golden Eye Award

Zurich runs from September 25 to October 5.

“Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the most versatile character actors of his generation,” Christian Jungen, Festival Director of the Zurich Film Festival, said in a statement.  “He comes from the theater, masters his craft in every role, and gives his characters emotional depth – whether as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game or as superhero Doctor Strange in the Marvel universe. We have shown many of his films at the ZFF in recent years and are delighted to be able to welcome him to Zurich in person for the first time, both as an actor and as the producer of The Thing With Feathers.”

everyone has dreams about being lost at school, late to work, cant find bathroom etc but whats yalls most common Uncommon stress dream. ill always have dreams about having various problems with my fish tank

Before reaching the last sentence I was also preparing to say "having various problems with fish tanks" so I'm not sure where we're supposed to go from here.

I don't have fish tank dreams (never having owned a fish tank) and I think most of my stress dreams are common (problems with my teeth, trying to run but can't move or can only move slowly) but there is one that is surely (becoming) uncommon because it's generational: trying to dial a rotary phone and my finger keeps slipping so I have to hang up and start over from the beginning. Sometimes also a touch phone, but again you have to start over from the beginning, there is no back button like on cell phones/smart phones.

And while we're on the topic (of other shows), has anyone else been watching Two Husbands One Wife?

Not a detective show at all, it's about these three cuties discovering polyamory. It's very sweet, sometimes cringe, and the guy in the middle is fairly clearly (to me) intended to be autistic. Another one tumblr should be all over.

The Residence

It's Knives Out style fun with a Black female main character detective, Cordelia Cupp (played by Uzo Aduba) who could arguably be autistic, although it's never stated outright.

I won't say she's exactly supposed to be a Sherlock Holmes variation, although there are certainly nods like the English tweed jacket, sitting in an armchair across from suspects in a well-appointed drawing room during interviews, and getting cheek-to-rug to pick up clues.

There is also a sidekick detective played by Randall Park, although I didn't get any Watson vibes from him and there's not any friendship between them. He mostly just follows her around.

The cast is diverse, with a background gay couple (one of whom happens to be the President of the United States). Why no Tumblr love?
