In a flurry of flying red hair, Donna whipped around and placed her hands on her hips. "Oi," she said angrily to the man behind her. "Wha's the big idea, then?"

He stopped his sneaking past, though maintaining his slightly crouched posture under her anger. He did not say anything.

"Doctor said no one's gettin' through," Donna went on, frowning at him. "So no one's. Gettin'. Through. Go on," she added, when he still didn't move. "Honestly, you lot are like a buncha gnats or somethin'."

These cafes were all the same to her by now. She had had millions of coffee meetings with friends, enemies, and random strangers who had managed to catch her eye. She downed the last bit of her iced latte, savoring each drop of liquid energy. It had been a tiring year, but Rose could feel a new beginning even as she sat there, silently watching the world pass by. Rose finally decided it was time to face the world.

The sun glared through the cloudy London sky, announcing the afternoon before Big Ben had a chance to chime (haha)  in. The wind gently moved her hair so the golden locks just covered her eyes. It was surprising that her eyelashes, decorated with an obscene amount of mascara, did not break through her hair, but Rose just sighed and pushed the strands back to the side of her face. “It has been too long,” Rose muttered. Taking a deep breath, Rose took her first steps towards her old life as an adventurer. “Maybe I won’t have to run as much this time.”
