Like a predator, Damien looked at the patient and could sense the fluttering heart beats and the nerves, he felt the irritation at being called a psycho and yet, wasn’t that what he was? He was in an asylum, and he didn’t work there, which didn’t leave many options and to Damien, they were all just different level psycho’s, he didn’t care what their color said. The Guard’s lips turned up and in to a predatory smirk at the outburst, he stumbled just a step or two and had to hold back a bark of laughter.
Fresh meat. Prey. Whatever or whoever this guy was, he clearly wasn’t the smartest. You don’t piss off the hand that feeds you, and you should always make a friend of a fellow psycho, especially one in a position of power who could piss in your drink or have you strapped to the bed for the next 18 hours.
Damien reacted in his usual way, he didn’t push back, this wasn’t a playground and it wasn’t ‘tit for tat’, no, he stepped it up and caught the patients wrist, pulling him closer and smiled at him.
“You want to calm down, or do I need to sedate you?”
Samuel took the forced step closer to the man in front of him. If looking at the situation from an outsider’s perspective he would clearly be able to tell that he’s in over his own head, but right now? No one could convince him to step down if it wasn’t by forcing him to. He didn’t fancy being ordered around and told how to act. Especially not here, a place he clearly wasn’t supposed to be in. Because truly: the doctors are wrong.
He didn’t give the reaction a second thought before spitting the guard in the face. His father had taught him early one to never give respect to those who don’t respect you, and this guy was the human form of disrespect. This is what it would look like if the word grew legs and waltzed out of it’s dictionary, ready to take on and fuck around with the world. Sam wasn’t having it. Look at him. None of it.
