Kissing Booth / Haneul & Saul
@sxuljack
There was something strange about the event, something peculiar. Haneul Song could always tell when things were bound to get strange, after all; it was maybe because she was so strange that she could sense the strangeness around her. (This was, of course, a theory. There was no way Haneul could know strange things simply because she was strange, but she thought she could.) Or, well, she could sense strange when strange was happening. And, right now, she sensed it.
Maybe it was not her immediate location that was experiencing the strange at the moment; maybe it was somewhere else. But, there was a line at a particular booth, even though the event was just starting â and this, if anything, was strange. The event had only just begun, and already people had flocked to this particular strange booth.
Haneul being Haneul naturally had to check the place out.
And, it was, in that moment, that she realized who the man sitting in the booth was. It was in that moment that she moved closer, cutting the line that had formed, that she recognized the man. She knew him. Knew him. He was the handsome man with the frown. She knew him. And, with a look at the booth around him, she knew what he was doing, too.
The people, the strangers, standing in line before him almost brought a laugh to Saul Jackâs lips. As he stood there behind the booth, waiting for the young man in front of him to pull out the fee for that simple touch against the lips, Saul Jack almost chuckled. He almost laughed out loud at how long the line had gotten, and he almost showed the tiniest bit of amusement as he glanced off to the side, where his sister Sarah stood to âoverseeâ him. Almost, but not quite. Instead he remained in his spot, his hands on the table in front of him, with a dull expression --- as always. His eyes, bored and emotionless, covered the near betrayal of his lips turning upwards.Â
Sure, he didnât have to be there. Sure, he could have said no and walked away: or he could have said yes and and neglected to show up at all. But this hadnât been a simple request; it had been a request (a demand) from Sarah. And Sarah was not someone Saul enjoyed disappointing, as much as he would scowl at admitting.Â
But what had him so amused was not only the growing line standing before his eyes --- but the fact that each and every face following in that line morphed from nerves, apathy, excitement, --- everything --- to outrage as a woman took her place at the front of the line.Â
And she wasnât just any woman. He recognized this woman.Â
He said nothing about this, however. Instead, he glanced at the man that had failed to pull out the money in time for his turn and shrugged. There was nothing Saul could do about it, there was nothing he wanted to do about, and this man knew.Â
Without a second thought, bored eyes turned to a boring face, and Saul raised his eyebrows at the woman.
âMagic Trick Lady, didnât think Iâd ever be seeing you again.â
fellow werewolves
I see there are quite a few of you that recently joined and I would just like to say: come join Saulâs pack pls. Saul is an alpha (heâs just waiting for his pops to pass), and needs members in the human realm since almost half of his remained in the home realm! The only member that is currently being played is Rion Duncan, and thatâs by me. :âo But yeah!!! please message me if interested, my Kik is thealmightycreator and I will give my Skype upon request~

âYouâre one to talk about pointless conversation.â Tillie replied, wishing she could hiss or bare her teeth or something⌠but this realm belonged to a race best described as blissfully unaware. If Tillie should do something like that, sheâd be doing herself more harm than good. It was annoying. Stomping down her natural reflexes was uncomfortable at best.Â
It was amazing how stubbornly a person could pursue a situation they were so painfully losing. How could this young woman approach him, attack him, and have the audacity to say he was the one that was dragging the conversation on? He watched her for a short moment, trying to decide whether he should indulge her childishness, or disregard it.
âSays the one who came over here, initiated conversation, and continued conversing after she was told to go away. Youâre pretty good at trying to victimize yourself. But, like I said, you can go now. No oneâs keeping you here, so stop bitching if youâre going to keep yapping.â
But his love was too much for him, he felt paralyzed, he wanted to sleep inside her lungs and breathe her blood and be smothered.

His apathy was unimpressive, and his dry taunting even more so. Throughout her extended lifetime, sheâd encountered many like him. People who were absorbed in their own angst, people who took out their dissatisfaction on the world around them. Tillie gazed at him for a second, something dangerously close to pity dancing in her eyes.Â
âThatâs alright.â She replied, casually. âI canât think of a single thing I want to hear from you.â
âGreat?â Saul furrowed his brow at the woman, his eyes never lacking their dull carelessness. âBecause that matters.â The sarcasm dripped off his tongue as naturally as breathing came to him.Â
He didnât know exactly what it was, but there was a clear scent reaching his nose that made him want to gag. It wasnât a food, it wasnât a product; it was her. She wasnât a human --- she was of his world, and she wasnât a werewolf. âYou know how to string words together in pointless conversation, after someone told you to go away, so...â The sentence trailed off as he lifted his mug of coffee to her.Â

âWhat did you think I was going to do?â
The words flew out of Saulâs mouth before he could think. It was a rarity reserved for his father, and a rarity well used. Saulâs impulsion â his need to lash out at his previous Alpha was what kept him so straight during every other hour of the day. So, while he knew every other member of the pack was listening through the walls, he shouted. He knew that every member his father had mistreated and sacrificed needed the words to be said.Â
He shouted with the anger that he harbored, he shouted with the hurt that he didnât know he sheltered. He shouted for the wolves that had unfairly been thrown into harm when precautions could have been taken. He shouted at the old man who sat withering to nothing and yet managed to shove his way into each and every pack matter.
âThis is my pack, not yours! You lost it a long time ago, so donât look at me like you would have done any better! You donât call the shots anymore; they donât listen to you! Look at yourself! Do you feel like an Alpha?!? Because youâve been kidding yourself for a long time if you think you do.âÂ
âDonât talk to me like that, Salomao. I can still endââ The threat, oh the pathetic threat. Saul growled, a harsh growl, when a burst of coughing cut through his fatherâs threat.Â
âIâm not in your pack anymore. None of us are. So take a look in the mirror and get that into your head. We arenât your wolves anymore. Iâm not on your side anymore. Iâm on theirs.â
SAUL JACKÂ
---Â He carries himself with an air of caring enough to mock, to taunt. He carries himself with arrogance and self-absorption. But he doesnât care about anything. Not you, not me, not himself. Not even a bit, not ever, not at all.
âYou wouldnât happen to know if thereâs a good sushi place around here, would you?â
âI know of a sushi place, but I donât know if itâs any good. Down on Main Street, just about a block past City Hall.â

No amount of life experience could make up for the look that stranger was giving her. Tillie shifted uncomfortably, wishing they would leave so she could read the Monday paper in peace. There were horoscopes to be made fun of, obituaries to be examined- all of which couldnât happen so long as that stranger was looking at her.Â
Tillie let out a small sigh, and closed her newspaper with a delicate fluttering of pages. She uncrossed her legs and fluffed her mass of curls. Then, approached the unwelcome onlooker, her strides long and confident.Â
âWas there somethinâ you planned on sayinâ to me?â
Sure, he had been blanking. He had been staring at something he hadnât even registered, and he didnât even know for how long. But he had all the right reasons to. With new environments to get accustomed to, the stench of motor oil everywhere he went, and half a pack of unrestrained werewolves rampant in this new world...Saul had every God given right to sit and, well, sit.Â
It wasnât his fault his resting face made him look like he was judging every thing he looked at. It wasnât his fault the weight on his shoulders barely left him with enough strength to keep his head up during waking hours --- it wasnât his fault this woman had been sitting where his gaze had landed. So why in the world had she approached him?
He knew why. The answer was simple; she wanted to know why he had been staring. And chances were that if he opened his mouth and replied to her with a retort as tauntingly biting as he normally would, she would react badly. Of course she would. People always did.Â
And yet, despite the knowledge and probabilities he ran through in the split second after she spoke, he opened his mouth anyway.Â
âWow, amazing,â his voice was dull, but his expression mocked her. âA mind reader --- I was about to say something. But not to you. So, you know, you can go now.â

âAre you trying to intimidate me? Okay, okay. Hm. Ohhh, what a scary face you have there. I suggest not looking in a mirror anytime soon --- you might scare the ugly right off your own mug.â
