“Hakushu Kassai Uta Awase” - supercell
kyctcuryuu:
“ I think you’re cuter than a word, Togame.”
“ well that just goes without saying. ”
kyctcuryuu:
He was silently thankful for the change in seasons, the WINTER was always cold. It was always his least favorite season of them all, spring ( at least ) smelt fresh and life seemed to breath itself back into EVERYTHING. A frosty nip in the air, that offsets the warm sunny day. An odd combination, certainly. Such like the SWORD and his wielder.
He rests the crook of his chin in the palm of his hand, waiting for Togame to finish whatever she was doing. ( SHOPPING, she always seemed to enjoy that particular pass time for whatever reason. ) He had grown used to the Strategian’s eccentric behavior especially when she her mood had been happy or sad.
In 6 short months, they had obtained 6 SWORDS from the throes of the cold climate of Ezo. His fist tightens into a dangerous grip from memories of that particular adventure. The untrained beserker, easily taking down the hard - trained sword with nothing but wild swings of kanazuchi. His expression changes into a deep frown, losing always stuck to him tougher than glue. This time around, he BROKE a promise to her, how useless he had been.
“ Am I a good sword ?” He contemplates for a moment, Itezora had been the second person Shichika had left alive - the first being that pirate, who he has to admit TAUGHT the word something very important. ( And the new emotion along with it – jealousy. ) Regardless, did it matter in the end ? The sword was got, and the loss should sit in the back of his mind. It does, he stews on it, he stews on them all.
His head turns and he stands upright at the familiar voice, a couple of heart pounding moments as the WOMAN HE FELL FOR - made her way towards her weapon. A quick quirk of his lips in a soft smile, before schooling his features once again. He opens his mouth wide for his woman, eating the mochi straight from her grasp. He snacks on it for a few moments, enjoying the soft chewy taste of the sweet. It’s delicious, there’s no doubt about it, whoever put the time and effort into this treat was a true mastermind !
Following her closely behind, keeping a constant eye and ear out for any potential attackers. ( He didn’t know, this town was new to him !) “ It’s tasty,” he comments before finishing off the skewer in one big bite.
He can’t help but share her curiosity, it was a little worrying - keeping a constant eye on everyone who could be a potential threat to his woman. She was incredibly cute, and almost always attracted the wrong kind of attention. ( Once again, that pirate guy. ) “ I wonder what’s happening ?” He murmurs under his breath, he didn’t quite understand how different cultures were within each town, it was almost like learning a whole new discipline within each new UNEXPLORED territory.
“ Don’t leave my side,” his voice and gaze steels itself, fingers threading them together as he prepares for something to possibily go wrong.
her blade , her tool , her weapon in the war she had been fighting for nearly twenty years --- in six more months, presumably , where would the two of them be ? she could not predict the future and , quite frankly , she was a little afraid to dream . fantasizing about the possibilities , striving for an outcome in which they would be able to face the endless horizon , hand in hand . but she did not want to regret having hope , especially when the conclusion of their story , in the most positive outcome , likely concluded with her partner’s sacrifice .
but for now , they were together . and perhaps that was where she should place her happiness , in enjoying their limited time in the comfort of one another . a bright smile curves upon her , expression lighting up in joy as she witnessed her partner relish in the taste of her simple gift . she put a lot of personal thought into everything she did for him , after all ; so even the smallest of love languages meant quite a lot from her perspective . was this too much to ask for ? these moments would fade , and as either he or she drowned in their own blood , would they even recall the happier times they had shared ??
was failure her best option ? it didn’t seem as though there was any future for the two of them so --- would dying together be the only way the two of them could find peace ??
no, she would not think of such things for now . she would push it all to the darkest corners of her subconscious , allowing the quiet thoughts to whisper her heart to the point of rotting . she alone would bear these burdens ; she could at least do that for him , couldn’t she ??
“ most husbands wish their wives would leave them alone ; luckily for you , shichika , i’m not going anywhere . ” an air of false confidence , empty reassurance . “ no matter where i go , i’ll always think of a way back to you . you’ll have more trouble getting rid of me than you would trying to hold onto me . ”
do not forgive me . let my name scorch your tongue && burn your heart ; one day the rain will come and flowers shall bloom from my grave . i have walked through frost for you && drowned in ashes for you so please , won’t you let me save you ?
not so subtly hints at coming back to this blog yes, i am slowly reworking this blog. i don’t want to move to another one just in case my old friends decide to ever come back. sorry i’ve been gone.

The sound of a finished book's pages closing together under the weight of its cover elicits a satisfied sigh from Yonah's chest. As she gazes down at the tome's welcoming illustration, a knight reaching upward for a princess in a tower, she begins to think aloud— "Sometimes I wonder what it's like, being the princess in a fairy tale. Being rescued by someone handsome would be great, but having to wait? Why can't the princess do anything to help?"
a confident smile creeps upon the strategist’s face. “ now, now. ” a glint of mischief gleams in her magenta eyes. “ that’s why it’s just a story, dear yonah. ” arms cross, head slightly tilted backwards.
“ we can never expect to be saved by anyone. ” she knew this all too well, from personal experience. but she quietly hoped that yonah would never be betrayed in the ways the strategist had. “ but that’s a good thing, you know! something to be proud of! you can be strong, all by yourself. ”

I can bear any pain as long as it has meaning.
Haruki Murakami (via quotemadness)
the aroma of thousands of flowers, sunlight warming their bodies from the slight spring breeze. was it truly the end of the long, unforgiving winter? or more importantly - was their journey already around halfway through? how unfortunate. it seemed as though gears were forcing them to keep moving forward to the inevitable, bitter end. she knew, more or less, of the fate the two of them were bound to, and while she had accepted it as fact, it had started to feel a little ... distasteful.
she shook the doubts out of her mind, hoping to just focus on the now. the duo had concluded, or rather, the strategian had decided, that a detour from their sword searching would be a nice break for the both of them. enjoying the beginning of spring would certainly be a good way to get away from the pressure and stress of their mission. she had picked out a light yukata, decorated with intricate floral prints and pastel colors.
“ shichika! ”
carrying a stick of skewered mochi in each hand, she rushed towards her lover with her newfound prizes. it was essentially the perfect spring day, with flowers in full bloom and civilians gathered by the riverside to enjoy the weather. she stretched out her arm, offering one of the mochi skewers as she approached.
( yes, this is what she wanted to do. this is where she wanted to be forever. )
“ how is it? good, isn’t it? ” she didn’t even give him a chance to answer. “ of course, i picked out the best mochi i could find. i would never spend money on anything besides the best.” she walked ahead of him, as she habitually did, leading him through the crowds of people. “ there are lots of people out today. i wonder if the citizens of this city just walk around like this all the time. ” that's certainly what it seemed like, at least.
@kyctcuryuu
Touching Togame had become ritual-esque, arms wrap around her smaller frame in a warm embrace on the cool evening. As their time spent together grows longer, the smile quirking the swords lips soften to something more GENUINE, more LOVING. It just shows how their relationship has grown from one of guilt for what his father had done, to being able to imagine a future with the eccentric strategian.
this was alright, wasn’t it?
enveloped in familiar arms, cradled against a warm chest she seemed to fit perfectly into -- this happiness, this bliss, was it okay to enjoy this? her chest ached, the pulling of her head and the pushing of her heart leaving her in the middle of a silent battle. she knew, after all, that this would not last forever. she had a plan, a ( strategy ) , one that involved her living on happily with or without her sword.
he was her sacrifice, after all.
( fall for me . )
the beginning of their journey seemed so distant, as the ending crept closer and closer. just a few more swords and their story would come to an end. she would live on, wouldn’t she? she had dreams, ambitions that she had suffered immensely for. she had chosen to take this road, as a woman who could only manipulate and harm.
but even so ---
perhaps she was growing weak. because this warmth, this happiness - it almost brought tears to her eyes. she knew, she wouldn’t be able to let go in the end. spending months travelling with shichika had brought out something within her she had believed to be long g o n e . she had let herself slip up every now and then, letting her ( true ) feelings spill through. she would regret this. every mistake, every - miscalculation - would affect her future. it would cause her unthinkable pain, and she was all too aware of this.
but here she would stay, in the embrace of the man ( she knew she had fallen for ) . the consequences would come later, the punishment, though harsh, would be worth it, wouldn’t it? perhaps she so desperately wanted to believe that ( love could conquer all ) ?
she buries herself deeper against him, drowning herself in his scent. they had a long journey ahead, one of both tears and laughter. and she wanted to hold onto every moment of it.
oukajin:
byakuya wasn’t exactly the best judge of character. no, that required someone who was sensitive to follies of the heart, who could empathize with giving in and losing control of their reason to satisfy those desires. he only judged on facts and his own intuition. breaking out of such a sordid habit was a difficult task, but here he feels it’s not needed. what was at face value seemed enough for him. “death comes in many forms,” he replies, and his aspect of death was a white purity— like a beautiful funeral. “blending in… what is the use of it? hiding has many implications that i do not intend on conveying.”
ah, material things. they were as disposable as anything else and could be replaced— money was no obstacle. life, he had learned, was far more valuable, unable to replicate. you had to truly appreciate the company of others and the sharing of their lives with you, interconnected complexities that made being alive— this completing life and death. “i am far from average.” a highly-respected death god from an ancient aristocracy in the afterlife. certainly not average.
a chill creeps up her spine, magenta gaze narrowing in response. far from average, he had claimed, and so she believed. it was not merely his disposition that she found unsettling - his pupils seemed to pierce right through the tiny strategist. she had made far too many enemies in the past to make mistakes; crossing this man would be stepping right onto the snake’s tail.
“ bold. i have met few men so brazen as yourself that have lived long. i wonder who you must be and what kinds of people protect you for you to be so brave. “ fascinating, but a man she refused to risk having as an opponent. after all, despite his fearlessness, he still had secrets unknown to her. or perhaps, because he had such secrets, he could walk fearlessly.
sylphwhipped:
amber eyes fixated more warily, narrowing. Juno had all right not to trust someone but rather be the kind of person everyone could trust in. some said he wore his heart on his sleeve, others noted he didn’t have one — merely went on his thoughts alone, a flighty boy with the arrogance to match. he may be arrogant, but his heart was pure gold. the only one’s who knew him to be like that were the children and the sister back at his small village. and asta. ❝Juno. member of the Golden Dawn lead by William Vangeance. what made you come all the way out here? ❞
juno, huh? she was unfamiliar with the lands, clearly among strangers. giving away her mission could be quite dangerous. “ i’m looking for some things. “ a journey out to find the twelve strongest blades in the whole world; it would be nice to have allies but finding enemies would be all too risky. “ i’m searching for a nearby village to rest, though. you’d know of one, wouldn’t you? “
