For my durgetash character study I keep swinging wildly between “Gortash is a sociopath who sees through Durge’s cult leader persona into the child who just wants a family who he can manipulate” and “Gortash is just as fucked up and affection-starved as Durge, and accidentally falls in love while trying to use Durge not unlike Astarion’s failed simple plan”
