Don't Give Up | Febuary's Short Story After waiting in - 5 cold, I realized that the J train was not running tonight, this meant I would have to take 2 trains across and around Brooklyn to get home. It was cold, cold like when your size too small jeans are literally scratching your cold bumped fragile skin. Cold like I will minus my already - 2.00 bank account and get a cab home, fuck it. But I'd done a good thing, regardless of the weather, I went out to another live show by myself. Apart of my new rule since moving to NYC, I had to take all opportunities to emerge myself into the culture and music I had travelled so far to experience, even if it meant being that weird chick who came alone, by herself in the crowd, always looking like she is trying to find someone. When sitting on the train, (one of the older style ones which didn't tell you your future destinations) I anxiously hoped it was headed in the direction I needed to go to get home. Sitting there feeling a little alienated about my new life, I saw a homeless man sleep on the seat beside me. I thought how can I be feeling this way when I have a home to go to. As I stared out the cart trying to read the names of the stops we passed, I saw a note, a piece of paper sitting loosely next to me. As I looked closely and read the content of this note I realized it stated, DON'T GIVE UP. #wearthecrown👑
