If that please your highness,” the blond hissed, bowing low at the waist, though he never once broke eye contact with the brunette, pale, icy blue eyes betraying nothing of the smirk on Herr’s face.

“Ta-ta, then, dear girl. And do remember that it was you that drove me away this time.”

She sat frozen for a few seconds, her eyes never leaving his as he swooped into a bow, prattling on about something or other.. Why couldn’t he just say goodbye and leave like a normal person? But then again, he wasn’t a normal person, was he? What exactly was he, now? He looked the same, and he certainly acted the same, but there was something about him that had definitely changed..

Maybe it had just been too long since she’d seen him. It had been an awfully long while, and this house was so quiet without anyone around, maybe it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle to swallow her pride this time.

“Wait,” she sighed, small fingers kneading gently at her forehead, trying to shoo away a niggling headache that had been threatening to bloom into a migraine for quite some time now, “don’t.. Don’t go, I’m sorry. I’m only being sharp with you because I’m in pain, and I miss Lucas, obviously. You can stay if you want.”

“If you can admit at the very least to being wrong in behaving how you are when I’ve done nothing to warrant your venom this time, then yes. I will stay,” Herr said, standing up tall and adjusting his tie briefly. 

“You see, Noyabrina, I only prod because you were too harsh with him. Even I could see that.”
