Actually, they're fed quite well, they get plenty of protein and good fats…

The Famous Restaurant (A Cliffside fanfic)
(ft. My Cliffside cowgirl OC Molly)
The dusty streets of the small Western town of Cliffside were quiet as the sun began to set behind the hills. Wooden buildings lined the street, horses were tied to posts, and the smell of grilled food drifted out of the most famous restaurant in town — Golden Steakhouse.
Four friends pushed open the swinging doors and stepped inside: Waylon, Jo, Cordie, and Molly.
The restaurant was full of cowboys, Cowgirls, travelers, and monsters enjoying wonderful meals.
Waylon tipped his hat as they walked in. “Evenin’, folks. Looks like the place is packed tonight.”
Cordie pointed toward a table near the window. “There’s one spot left. Let’s grab it before someone else does.” she said being very Excited.
The group sat down just as a waitress came over with a friendly smile.
“What can I get y’all tonight?” she said.
Jo looked at the menu. “I’ll take the grilled steak with mashed potatoes.” she said.
Molly smiled. “I’ll have the roasted chicken and corn on the cob.”
Waylon leaned forward. “Give me the biggest burger you’ve got… and some fries.”
Cordie Giggled. “I’ll take the BBQ ribs.”
“Coming right up,” the waitress said before heading to the kitchen.
Jo leaned back in her chair. “So, how’s everyone’s day been?” she asked.
Waylon wiped dust off his jacket. “Spent all morning fixing the fence at the ranch.” he said.
Molly laughed. “Better than my day. My horse decided to run halfway across town.” she said.
A few minutes later, the waitress returned carrying their food. The table filled with sizzling steak, juicy burgers, ribs dripping with sauce, and golden fries.
Waylon’s eyes lit up. “Now that’s a meal.”
Jo cut into her steak. “This place never disappoints.” she smiled.
Molly tasted her chicken and nodded. “Best restaurant Ever.”
Waylon raised his glass. “To good friends and good food.”
They all clinked their glasses together.
“To good friends!”
After they finished eating, the waitress returned once more.
“Y’all want dessert?”
Waylon grinned. “You got apple pie?”
“Fresh out of the oven.”
“Then bring four slices,” he said.
Moments later, the warm apple pie arrived.
As they enjoyed the last bites of dessert, the sounds of laughter and music filled the restaurant.
Jo stood and placed her hat back on. “Same time next week?”
Molly smiled. “Wouldn’t miss it.”
Cordie nodded. “As long as they keep making that pie.”
Waylon laughed. “And that burger.”
The four friends stepped outside into the cool night of Cliffside, the lights of Golden Steakhouse glowing behind them as they walked down the dusty street together.
