I have two ocs, named Sylvestre and Franc (short for François), who I have cried over multiple times in the last two weeks. As I’ve been writing their section of the trilogy I’ve had a hard time not to.
Here’s a rundown of Sylvestre’s past and his relationship with Franc.
Sylvestre was abandoned at 12 years old by his parents after his sister (19) died from what we now call Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy, amount other things. At the time it was like ≈800 AC so no one knew what to do about it. Sylvestre’s parents were so stressed about his sister that they abandoned him so they wouldn’t have to deal with those issues once they set on for him, if they ever did.
Sylvestre met Dracula and moved to modern day Romania with him to live out the rest of his teenage years. At around 16 years old he started to study any available textbook about medicine. At 19 years of age Sylvestre started to develop FSHD and heart issues. At 23 he begged Dracula to turn him into a vampire so he wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. Dracula did so, but was so ashamed that he sent Sylvestre back to Scandinavia.
Blah blah blah Sylvestre becomes a rejoined doctor blah blah blah he travels to help kids with his same condition blah blah blah. In the 1920’s, he makes a stop in a small town of France. Franc worked as a nurse there, ultimately falling deeply in love with Sylvestre. Sylvestre was married and had a wife back in Norway. They have a whole will-they-won’t-they relationship until Sylvestre’s wife divorces him due to speculation of cheating. That sent Sylvestre into a deep depression, of which Franc helped him through.
Sylvestre and Franc travelled to Scotland, a place known for its lack of vampires, to treat children who might need treatment. A mob of vampire hunters discovered that Sylvestre was a vampire and Franc was basically doing everything the vampire told him to. They caught Franc and killed him to drive Sylvestre out of their town.
Now, in my world, if one vampire puts their venom into another, that is the only thing that can kill said vampire, otherwise they are immortal. Sylvestre turned Franc into a vampire when Franc begged him the same way he begged Dracula. So, years and years later, Sylvestre runs into Franc again but can’t bring himself to take him back into his life.
Anyway, they make me so upset. My buddy @poeticmadmann understands, he was the entire reason Franc was created.
