“Hey,  Ring. Wanna test what we know of Aventanello?” Pyre waggles their eyebrows, grin wide as they clutch a book close to their chest. “I have stuff I could quiz ya on here if you’re interested. And vice versa, so you can do the same t’me. Winner with the most points makes smoothies for a week!”

          ❝ wh-- pyre! you know i’m terrible with quizzes...! even if it’s what i already know, i totally blank on everything! ❞ they’re not even exaggerating when they say that. if they’re put on the spot, good luck trying to get them to answer any questions. though, with pyre’s wager... they close their eyes, tilting their head in thought. ❝ mm... but at the same time, i can’t say no to an offer like that... i’m interested in what you’ve learned, too! alright, hit me with a question! ❞

“… Do you ever get homesick?” Pyre asks, their voice low and surprisingly soft. They’re not really on the defensive here, nor are they trying to act all big and tough. They’re just … asking you a genuine question, knees pulled up to their chest and arms crossed over them. 

“Or are ya like me, and ya just don’t know what to feel?”

          ❝ i’m sure i would feel homesick... if i knew what my home was like. ❞ their companion replies in a similarly lower voice, in contrast to his usual, more chipper tone. it’s almost a bit jarring to hear out of him, but he’s being serious here. glowing blue eyes look down and break eye contact before he continues. ❝ i really don’t remember anything from before i met you. i don’t know if this is my home, or if i’m from somewhere else, like you. it’s... honestly a little scary not knowing, heh... ❞ 

          a beat of silence passes, but it’s not long before ring is perking back up. it’s evident that it’s still bothering him at least a little bit, judging by his expression and his tone carrying tinges of worry, but he’s not one to go for long without at least a little bit of positivity. ❝ but, hey! we’ve got each other, right? we’ll... we’ll figure something out. and we’ll get you back home! ❞

          still ironing out kinks in ring’s backstory and making silly little art pieces to go along with it so hopefully that should be finished rrrrrelatively soon. i wanted to wait on making this blog public until i DID finish those and his non-cursed/human form pages but at the same time i’m very impatient and just wanna write this silly little guy. YES i have in-depth and serious lore for this damn ring and NO i am not sorry. the first tag dump, in the meantime.
