why in my opinion carla boone would have been a cool companion:

no dead wife trope. dead husband trope instead, which isnt seen a lot and is an interesting inversion of what we normally see in fiction. show me a raging widow who wants to avenge her husband pls

born and raised in vault 21 (as per my headcanon), carla would know how the strip came to be, how house dealt with the families and vault 21, how house’s deal with ncr affects the strip, etc

as the wife of a first recon sniper, she would have intimate knowledge of how the ncr as an institution fucks up its soldiers thru boone, who told her his culpability in war crimes as ordered by ncr higher ups

as a former legion slave (even for a little while), she can tell the courier about what she saw of legion society, giving us more much needed legion lore

another female companion! house-oriented and bisexual this time

i just think having a badass pregnant lady as a companion would be cool!

Page 5! With some lovely body horror! I changed a few things and am experimenting with a few new brushes. I’m debating if I want to add more grey colors. My plan was to limit it as much as possible, but I may change that.

A few ground rules for this story (mostly for me to remember):

Recorded history prior to 1925 is the same as ours, after that things start to diverge, getting further and further from our history as time moves on.

However, there are major similarities to our history. Maybe it’s not the Exxon Valdez that spilled tons of oil because Exxon cheaped out and failed to fix the ships radar and then tried to use the captain as a scapegoat, but something similarly shitty happens. Maybe the Vietnam war doesn’t happen, but there’s another horrible stupid war.

Science will have a basis in reality, but a lot of it is beyond human understanding and not everything will be fully explained.
