Although many would think there was a competition going on with the Harris children, Syrena never felt that way. She had a great relationship with both of her brothers and is still very close to them to this day. Though she would never admit it, she is closer to Rhett than Carter. But that is mostly because he is just easier to get along with. And he also spoils her, which she enjoys.
When Syrena turned eighteen, she moved to a nearby state for college. She was excited to start somewhere fresh where she could separate herself from the Harris name, especially since it was so known back home. Though, living in another state didn't last long. About a year and a half into college, Syrena received a call about her older brother's accident. Not wasting a second, she quickly packed up and returned home. Once her brother was out of the hospital Syrena moved in with him and helped take care of him.
Taking care of her brother and going to college, now in Aurora Bay, was exhausting but Syrena was determined to push through it. She lived as much of a normal life as she could, even with the feeling of nonstop business.
While attending college, Syrena fell in love with a boy. The two were super close and almost inseparable. He was also very understanding with Syrena's busy schedule, and never made her feel bad about putting her brother first most of the time. He was her forever. About two years into dating, Syrena unexpectedly found herself pregnant. She was overwhelmed and scared, not sure how she would balance everything but her boyfriend had reassured her everything would work out. Though a few weeks after finding out, she had unfortunately miscarried the baby, leaving Syrena crushed. The two had tried to work through it but Syrena began distancing herself from him more and more, which ended with her leaving him.
No one in her family knew about the pregnancy or the reason for the sudden break up. Syrena planned to leave it that way.
After about four years of living with her brother, she moved out at the age of twenty-four. She was excited and felt free again. Most of her days were spent looking at other states, once again looking to move out on her own and make a new name for herself. Which, once again, that dream came crumbling down. Just like everything else eventually did.
Syrena's mother, Cynthia Harris, was diagnosed with cancer. This news crushed her. Growing up, she was super close to her and they had many girl days. They were the Queen and Princess combo. And as much as she would love to take care of her mother, Syrena finds herself staying away more and more, leaving that job to Rhett. To this day, she is still finding her way through all of the obstacles life throws her way. Though, she's finding herself a little more content and at peace. She enjoys her job at the dance studio and still allows herself to get spoiled by her family.
