Because I love horror novels too much
Yuan enrolls in a strange university. Binghe, a senior, mentors Yuan's group: he tells them about the university, what to avoid, what not to do. Yuan doesn't find this strange. All universities have their own internal, unwritten rules. A couple of weeks later, students start disappearing, including Shen's classmates. But the freshman doesn't pay any attention either. Who knows, maybe they changed their minds and dropped out. Are there some places you can't go? Apparently they're undergoing renovations.
A few months pass, and after the winter exams, Yuan, who was walking to the dorm, realizes he's in a strange place. Dead trees have appeared along the road where they weren't before, and for some reason the dorm is nowhere to be seen, even though he's only a short distance away.
Soon, other students and a senior named Luo Binghe appear. There are six of them in total. Everyone looks terrified, only the elder remains calm and looks around. Shen doesn't understand what's happening, but he's hesitant to ask questions. Maybe he took a wrong turn? Then he'll look foolish if he asks. As they're led toward a building that appeared out of nowhere, Yuan watches Luo Binghe's behavior. Something inside him screams at him to stay close to Luo.
Yuan realizes that what's happening is far more horrific than he thought when the next morning they find a boy from their group torn to pieces in the bathroom.
Yuan is horrified. Yes, the change in space seemed strange to him, and it was difficult to ignore the other person's fear. But Shen hoped until the very end that it was just a disgusting joke. But no. Before him is the corpse of a boy who was alive just yesterday. A brutally mutilated corpse.
Yuan barely managed to retreat to a corner. He vomited. The disgusting taste of bile filled his mouth, and his legs were barely holding him up. But before he could fall, someone caught him just in time. Yuan turned his head and saw that it was Senior Luo. The senior led him into the hallway and leaned him against the wall, letting him recover.
Somehow realizing that Yuan had finally gathered his strength, Binghe spoke. As if knowing Yuan didn't understand, Binghe gently but thoroughly explained what was happening. Their university was located in an anomaly zone, and students were often drawn into the ghost world. Right now, they were in one of these, and their task was to survive. Anywhere else, Shen would have thought he was spouting utter nonsense. But now, this was information that would contribute to his survival.
He began asking questions, and Binghe answered them patiently. They only paused when they were called to "breakfast." Luo Binghe confidently led their group to the cafeteria, and Yuan tried to stay as close to the senior as possible.
