              her words struck him deep && he held his breath, his smile fading as easily as it had appeared. raising a long hand, he tucked a few strands of persephone’s hair behind her EAR, enjoying the simply touch of her skin against his own, the way they seemed to be made to be together — how she was made for him && him, for her. 

              being away from her was always painful but he had work to do — too much work to do with things that not even persephone could understand. PERSEPHONE, beautiful && smart && understanding persephone; the love of his life. she was too inteligent not to know that hades’ job was not was simple as sitting in an office the whole day; he knew she knew sometimes he had to do things not everyone found acceptable && he knew she knew he loved it. 

               still, she never asked && he never told. && he wouldn’t change that now; it didn’t matter how much he found DEATH fascinating, didn’t matter how much he enjoyed things that made him a bad person — persephone didn’t deserve being involved with that. she didn’t deserve the danger && the dirt that would eventually come as soon as she knew of her husband’s dark side. 

                sighing before putting out his cigarette so he could hold his WIFE better, his lips pressing to the lines that had appeared on her face, trying to kiss away her frown.    ‘ i know, my flower; i know. i’m tired too. i’ll make it up to you. — i’ll clear my schedule as soon as possible && we’ll travel somewhere you like. I PROMISE. ’ 

                                             ‘ do not. ‘

                        her voice was COLD all of a sudden. no matter how in love she was, she             was just as fierce and she did not like being put aside. stepping away from him,             leaving the warm embrace of his strong arms, persephone did not need to speak             for hades to know that she was unpleased.

            for the most, she wasn’t very demanding. all she asked for was a little attention,             maybe flowers then and again but not much more. however even her patience             had limits and hades had more than reached it. he was barely home lately,             always late for their dates and mostly, she had to beg for attention. and that, she             could not STAND. hades usually always gave her more than she needed and             perhaps she’d gotten used to it for her to feel abandoned now that he didn’t.

                       ‘ i’ve heard it before and i’m still waiting. ‘

       i love when some people who are against aesthetics say ‘i hate people who format. they        only format to hide that their replies are bad and would be two lines long if they didn’t’.

                      i’m just like i never said my replies were long or quality lol

LOVER:

                      her warmth would always be a painfully delicious shock to his extremely COLD SKIN as she was to his his similarly cold life.  the change was clear to anyone’s eyes to see; just a second before hades was all tense shoulders && frowns but only until he felt his lover’s arms around him. the way his lips curled in a smile was a RARE SIGHT for anyone that might glance his way — unless PERSEPHONE had his full attention to herself. then it wasn’t that much of an EXOTIC thing to see. 

                      ‘ never needed. ’   his agreement was muttered at the SAME TIME he spun on his heels, turning to wrap his own arms around her slimmer frame, yearning to have her in his arms.     ‘ i’m GLAD you are here — not sure if i’ll make it home to dinner tonight. ’ 

             despite her mother’s objection and against her better judgment, persephone                         had fallen for hades’ CHARMS very early in her teens. yes, he was a bad                         boy. yes, he had a bad reputation and bad acquaintances. especially when                         he was a teenager but she didn’t care. he had never hurt her — not once                         and from the beginning, she was IN LOVE.

                                        however as they grew older things got more difficult. both of them                                    had jobs and friends and family and keeping the balance between all                                    of it —— as well as their couple, was more than HARD. persephone                                    needed hades. every inch of her was infected with him and she needed                                    him with her. but it wasn’t so easy. he was busy, far too much, and she                                    stayed home alone—— far too much. so despite his arms warming her,                                    making her stomach feel butterflies all over, she was unhappy. gazing                                    up at him with a frown, she spoke with pain in her throat.     ‘ AGAIN?                                                                                                 hade, i’m tired of eating alone. ‘

                     locking the butt of the cigarette between chapped lips, pale fingers brought the flames of the lighter close to the   head until   the smoke   started to FILL his lungs with that pleasurable burn.     eyes shadowed by the dim light of a grey day flicked closed as the deathly gasp slipped off his parted mouth.    the breath of fresh air was like a knife to his chest — so deep he could almost taste BLOOD  on the back of his tongue. there was not a need to turn && look to know that he had a visitor so he didn’t.        ‘ — what brings you here? ’

                     persephone’s steps were soft on the pavement as she approached hades’            work building. it was definitely not a beautiful day, the CLOUDS veiled the sky            with their  s h a d o w  and wind picked her hair up in a beautiful curled mess.            she needn’t get closer to recognize the dark haired figure, hooded by the shadow            with only the smoke  —— from one of his cigarettes no doubt  —— to add some         depth.

                               as she heard her lover’s voice, she felt her heart flutter, pounding                                in her chest like a drum. a soft smile floated on her lips as she                                replied in HUSHED TONES, her arms wrapping around his waist                                while her nose teased his nape.       ‘ since when do i need a reason                                                                                 to come see my man? ‘
