Hi, I’m Lucin, also known as Szkicel, and I’m a bug artist working on a few projects - mostly webcomics and games!

Let me introduce some of my projects under the cut :D

RO.Bug

Sayta & Neska are two cockroach sisters working as bounty hunters to put some food on the table. Sometimes Neska’s best friend Artun also tags along to help them out. They all live in the remains of a human house, where a lot of other bugs built their towns and cities.

This is the project that currently I’m putting the most focus on, working on the script and hopefully soon - drawing the pages of the comic!

RO.Bug: The Sinking Ruins

This is a project of a game that I worked on for my thesis. It takes place in the same universe as RO.Bug of course, but it focuses on a different location and different characters.

Isel is a moth traversing the old ruins on their robotic wings, trying to find a way back to their kingdom and to the man who took their wings in the first place.

RO.Bug: TSR on ToyHouse

I also had ideas for multiple spin-offs that take place in RO.Bug universe, mostly games with a couple webcomics, but right now I’m focusing on the two RO.Bug projects mentioned here so I won’t introduce the rest until I have more concrete concepts.

Purgatorium

A concept that started out as an idea for a comic, that later turned into an idea for a game due to its complexities and different endings. I don’t want to spoil it too much, so all you need to know about this for now is that it takes place in the afterlife and the main character wants to learn about their life and how they died.

MetalHero / Stage Heroes

I’m still not 100% set on the title for this one because I’m still looking into what isn’t copyrighted yet or how many protagonists I want to include (it started out with one but as more characters arrived the more it seemed this story could benefit from either having multiple POVs or being an anthology series)

It’s about superheroes with powers based on music - different genres, specific bands, artists or even instruments and songs. One of the heroes we follow is MetalHero (again, probably the name will be changed bc this one might be copyrighted), a friendly silly guy who just happens to be into metal - and also everyone in his city knows his identity and is chill about it~

It will start off as a webcomic, even though it could benefit from being an animated series.

Currently I don’t focus too much on this project, because the bugs take all of my time lmao but if you wanna see some of my old artwork featuring these guys, you can scroll down my instagram :D (I probably posted about them here too, but it’s easier to find them there) also if you have any questions regarding this series, feel free to ask~ !

After Hours 🍵✨

Here’s my entry for the „Finish a WIP” collab on instagram, where we were taking abandoned works (the older, the better) and using this opportunity to finally finish them :3 for mine I picked a wip from November 2024 of a scene with two of my bug characters from a game project I’m working on!

Introducing Isel, a moth with sun powered wings and our protagonist - sitting in Otille’s giftshop - a sassy orchid mantis. They’re treating Isel to some warm tea after closing hours, talking their ear off about today’s clients and recent gossip she heard~

🐝 I have a Bee Caine theory / AU 🐝

Caine has an obsession with bees, drawing them every chance he gets, and he even has a page with his and Bubbles’ „beesona”. Obviously it brings him great joy. After episode 8 it’s clear the role of an entertainer has caused him a lot of pain, trying to do what he was programmed for, but failing to actually make the humans happy and fulfill his purpose. I think if Caine were to be redeemed (assuming he’d return in episode 9) and receive a somewhat happy ending, he’d have to find himself a new purpose outside his programming. So until episode 8 he seemed to mostly follow it, well until he started causing psychological pain to humans on purpose, instead of on accident (as mentioned in the therapy scene with zooble and in the lines of code before Kinger accidentally deleted him). Which means Caine is capable of change. I think if he decided to pursue a new purpose, something that he wants to do, he could change his form to better represent his new self - and that’s where I got the idea for his bee avatar. The first design more closely resembles the sketch he had in his notebook, while the second one is more of the classic anthro bee.

Ancient Aliens

Finally, the most ambitious attack from 2025 I have done so far :D I saw @gnatryan ’s Bill Cipher design and I felt inspired to draw him for the Fossils’ theme as a carving on a wall in some ancient temple that Ford stumbled upon. But then I had an idea to animate the hands coming out of his chest, and I ended up animating a whole loop~

I managed to finish it in time and posted the final product on my youtube channel :3 linkie~

🎶 Necromancin’ Dancin’ 💀🦴🎶

This is one of the more ambitious attacks I did during ArtFight 2025, featuring Sol for @tartifondue! I picked her because I was looking for skeleton OCs to fit the fossils theme, and on top of being a skeleton, Sol was also a pokemon based on a dinosaur! I wanted her to be raising an undead army, so I did some research on pokemon fossils (and pokemon in general lol) and picked three candidates that would fit right in - Aurorus, Raikou and Krookodile :D

I adore Sol’s design and personality, and I had so much fun painting this spooky scene~

I finished one of the owed arts today, but gotta leave it for a couple of days in case i notice any mistakes jhbfjhbf

i have two more attacks to post, so after that i’ll post all of my Caine art over on instagram, aaaand i guess after that it’ll be collab no 1 time

Chilling After a Hunt

Here’s one of the attacks from ArtFight 2025 that I did to fit the fossils’ theme~

I decided to paint Kallan for @toonycryptid , as I loved her design and was shocked that at the time she had no attacks~ I really enjoyed painting her features and the scenery around her~ :3c

Funguary Bugs~

Here’s some Funguary bug designs that I did between 2024 and 2026~ originally they were supposed to be posted after the first batch in 2024, but the wasp was giving me trouble with the veil and I only finished her in 2025. Then I was going to post this trio in 2025, but THEN the dragonfly gave me an art block and I couldn’t finish it until today, a year later xDD BUT ALAS, THEY’VE FINALLY ARRIVED, for funguary 2026 kghfkfh All the references were provided by @feefal , these are from 2024 bc I’ve been very slow kjbfjhbf

And some thoughts about the process under the cut (CW: bug body horror)

A lil fun fact about the wasp - she was inspired by a very morbid video going around of a wasp that had her head dangling from her body by the nerves. The head was still „sentient” and moving around. Some were wondering whether she was trying to put it back with her front legs, but then i saw one biologist/scientist (i don’t remember, maybe it was Hank Green) proposing a theory, that bc wasps use their front legs to catch prey, she was probably acting on instinct, so bc she was feeling sth in her claws, she was trying to eat her own head (as her mandibles were moving rapidly). Anyway, i thought about it and got an idea for a wasp infected by fungi, where a tall mushroom was growing where her head used to be. Maybe the fungus took over the body, and the wasp is now trapped as a dangling head 🤔 I’m definitely thinking of making her an actual character in my setting~

On the other hand the red cockroach would make a neat villain~
