Hot take I never understood the malink appeal (canonically)

1. Their relationship is so simple in the game like Malon doesn't even know his name and their interactions are not that deep?? Which baffles me as to why people consider it canon, it's not. No matter how ppl INSIST that TP Link is their descendant (it's just confirmed that is oot Link descendant) there's no solid proof that they were in love or at least have formed a close bond.

Which brings me to point two: the shippers

In 2014-2018 in this platform the ship wars between malink and zelink were insane and nowadays I noticed that it doesn't happen anymore which is really good.

BUT FOR SOME REASON THAT I DON'T GET IT PEOPLE DECIDED TO HATE THIS ZELDA MORE THAN BEFORE?????? WHY???

Not tumblr thank God but it happens a lot on twitter, reddit, YouTube (there are videos explaining why this Zelda is the worst Zelda like Wtf😭) Facebook, and tiktok (which is the worst) and all of these ppl have a thing in common: shipping malink

Thanks to the misinformation through the years ppl genuinely believe that Malon is canonically Link's wife and that he hates Zelda or has a complicated relationship with her (God knows where they got this) they even demonized her 😭

But definitely the worst part is that they have 0 respect for zelink artists, leaving negative comments in their artworks just bc they draw hero of time married with Zelda bc they firmly believe malink is canon.

Having headcanons IS NOT BAD (I have crack ships man) but using them to harass ppl with other preferences it is.

I thought these shipping wars were a thing of the past, but I see that now it's worse because there are other social media platforms and new fans who believe everything a TikToker says instead of playing the fucking games.

(I'm not speaking for other zelink incarnations, this is only about this zelink in particular btw)
