"I can't believe humans would hunt the thylacine to extinction, humans are fundamentally evil" Hey, did you know that extinction was long thought to be impossible, and within 50 years of humans realizing that extinction via overhunting was a possibility it practically stopped happening? Did you know that humans are so desperate to prevent more losses that they're funneling millions of collective hours and billions of euros into helping other species? Hours and euros that could be spent on humans, being spent on species on whom humanity's own survival does not depend? Did you know that due to an accidental introduction of rats, the Lord Howe Island stick insect population was brought down to 24 individuals and now there are tens of thousands of them?

This bug. This bug that, to most humans, is utterly useless, relatively gross, and completely foreign. Humans saved it because humans do not want to cause another extinction ever again if they can avoid it.

still fucks me up what a bad rap coyotes get in peoples eyes. like ive talked to people who  see em as like. gross pests who should be culled. theyre literally just as cool as wolves just a lil smaller and less confident. i love them with all my heart to balance out all the coyote haters out there, coyotes rule theyre doing great

back in highschool, our cross country team would always run by the canals. which is also where the coyotes lived, and had their pups. so we would occasionally get “escorted” by a guard coyote that was trying to protect a litter.

if you have not been escorted by a coyote, its a pretty silly experience. they follow behind you, but at a respectable distance, occasionally doing weird bark-yip-yodels. unless you slow down. then they continuously do their bark-yip-yodels, as a reminder that you should not linger near their babies. very chatty critters, coyotes. they always left our fastest guy alone because he’d toss the last inch of his mid run gas station hotdogs their way

You want to know how badly Solas has it for Lavellan? Look at what happens after the Fade kiss. If Lavellan suggests they remain friends, he agrees. That should have been the end of it — the perfect exit, the graceful way to step back. But when the balcony scene comes, it isn’t Lavellan who reopens that door. It’s Solas. He’s the one who brings up the kiss, despite Lavellan suggesting they remain friends. Then, the same dialogue on the balcony plays, the same sequence unfolds. It's like Solas is trying one last time, against his better judgement to open that door, despite Lavellan handing him an escape.

It dismantles the idea that their romance depends entirely on Lavellan's pursuit. Yes, Lavellan initiates much of the physical closeness, but the emotional initiations belong to him. Again and again, his dialogue reveals him as the one who raises the stakes, who admits the depth of feeling. He is the first one to say 'I love you', to go all in on his first flirt lines, to admit how he is drawn away from the Fade, a desire to live in the physical world with Lavellan. Bringing up the kiss after agreeing to stay friends shows just how deeply it affected him, how deeply Lavellan affects him - that intimacy with Lavellan is not something he can file away, not something he can forget, no matter how much he tells himself he should.
