Occtis is a wizard, he's good at magic, not at exercise. He's riding somebody much larger (Kattigan? Hal? Azune? Teor? Whoever you want will work) and he's close, and he is exhausted. He's not used to that, his hips are trembling from pleasure and the amount of work he's doing (Occtis might be a bit too eager for somebody his constitution and great lack of experience). Kissing headcanons! (Because I’m feeling sappy and need more kisses!)
Teor kisses with his lips fully closed, just gently pressing them into the other person. He is well aware of how sharp his teeth are and how much bigger he is then most of his partners. He is a very gentle and guarded kisser, until he isn’t.
Thaisha strikes me as the kind of person that kisses with so much passion that she forgets to mind her tusks, piercings or anything else really. Hal has several small scars from such incidents. Vaelus no doubt will soon!
Murray strikes me as a very open mouth kisser, she’s used to being smaller then most of the people she’s kissing and she loves to taste them on her lips. I think she also secretly loves the feeling of someone else’s tongue swiping over her gemstone teeth.
Aniko is nearly impossible to kiss without getting nicked by one of his fangs. He can kiss with his lips closed but it’s uncomfortable on his end so he usually just lets the other person have it. If they want him, they get him, sharp parts and all.
Hal is one of the softest and most skilled kissers in Araman, I don’t make the rules it’s just true! He knows exactly how to start slow, mind his tusks and gradually increase the pace and passion until who ever he is kissing is nearly begging him for more.
Bolaire is a strange person to kiss but I do think it’s surprisingly enjoyable. The mask shifts so the lips fit perfectly with who ever he is kissing, making it feel like they just belong together.
Occtis is oh so shy about kissing. At least at first. He has no experience and he’s always worried the coolness of his lips is going to frighten his partner. He starts out timid and gentle, asking if it’s ok every few minutes. However the more into it he gets, the more he manages to shut off the over thinking and just let his instincts carry him, the more passionate and animalistic he becomes. Almost desperate to taste the other persons warmth.
Gaya is such a soft kisser it’s almost hesitant. She has plenty of experience with the quick and dirty but anything sweeter and more romantic catches her off guard. I think she loves the idea of losing herself in a lovers demanding kiss but in practice she would overthink it and not know how to handle such face to face intimacy. Making all of her kisses ever so soft and gentle but also rushed and a little awkward.
Kattigan is a wild kisser, just like he is wild about everything else. He goes from 1 to 10 in record time and after kissing for more than 5 minutes he's probably already pulling the other person into his lap. He probably uses just a little too much tongue but honestly who could complain? Still better then being licked by Wulfric!
Ethrand kisses the same way he handles most other things in his life, over confidant and clumsy. He's grabby, pushy and uses way too much tongue. Almost like he's trying to taste the other person or crawl inside their very soul. Maybe it's just because he has never seen a proper loving kiss or maybe it's because he's so touch starved he loses his ability to think clearly as soon as someone is that close to him.
Azune is so sweet and gentle while kissing but also firm and steady. As he is about everything he does. He's definitely the hand on the cheek kind of guy and when the person kissing him grabs him by the back of the neck he melts. He's polite but insistent and has the softest lips
Can we talk about the fact that Occtis came up with his own symbol and put that shit everywhere?
The symbol of House Tachonis is the stylized skull. Occtis does not (appear to) have that sigil anywhere on his clothing or things (except probably his signet ring). Mr Eighth Son does, however, have a very stylized purple "8" on not only his clothing but also the familiar that he built himself.
Don’t ask me why but I get the feeling Ethrand Tachonis kisses with too much tongue. He just seems like the type to try and crawl into his lovers mouth.
After this most recent episode, I am starting to view the sundered houses in a new light. When trying to think about the houses in the past, I have tried to puzzle them out as how "good" are they based on Royce being on one end and Tachonis being on the other. Where on the spectrum do they all fall? It has been difficult to say.
Spoilers through Campaign 4 Episode 23
I had an epiphany with this last episode and seeing more of the Lady Cormoray that I don't think its a spectrum from "good" to "bad", but rather the sundered houses represent, and in their core move from an archetype based in one of the seven deadly sins. Now you may say but there is only five sundered houses which is correct, but we also learned in episode 16 that in the Obradimian Empire, there were two other sorcerous houses, Memnari and Kalystra that are believed to be lost to history, bringing the total number of houses to seven that all operated under the ruling House Obradai: Tachonis, Halovar, Royce, Einfasen, Cormoray, Memnari and Kalystra.
Spoilers through Campaign 4 Episode 23
What triggered this thought in my mind was the confirmation we had of Lady Cormoray's sinister nature. It doesn't track for me then that we have one seemingly "good" house and four (that we see and are around) that are do such horrendous things and are acting in ways that don't seem to be easily explained with just "power corrupts people" because then why would the Royce be spared when until very recently they were on equal footing and power as the others? This is how I found things slotting into place:
Greed/Avarice - Cormoray:
The Lady Cormoray has been described as being "bejeweled" and dressed in finery. The Cormoray make wines and give the air of being wealthy even amongst the wealthy. This greed was also signaled with them using their immense wealth to abuse the Hucklewind tradition, something meant to provide a public service, to enrich their private property with a fountain crafted by renown dwarves. In this last episode, Lady Cormoray's greed was exemplified in her desire to take and accumulate more in the form of the Priaha Blade that took down Azgra, and seemingly everything in the museum that she saw as belonging to her/her family now.
Envy - Halovar:
Yanessa cited the Royce having the Golden Orchard, the Tachonis having "whatever they did", the Halovar having nothing, and wanting power again in her justification for trapping Aetheon, making Goddard, and subsequently the Candecent Creed. This showed an air of envy that their house had nothing to fall back on and that she coveted the power of the others that did. Going back and seeing the scenes with Yanessa and really listening to what she says, this reads very strongly for me even though we don't have further textual evidence yet from other people in the family fully "in the know" about the truth.
I won't be surprised if Wick's sister Zambani ends up being envious of him and his position as Scion. We have heard little about her, but Wick believes she hates him. She is the older sibling and was given the true knowledge and yet was left to tend the angel in the basement while her little brother got to be the literal golden boy.
Wrath/Anger - Einfasen:
I think this one is very clear in the day to day operation in how they can be extremely hair-trigger, have no "yellow light", and treat any sense of violation of a rule/order or betrayal with swift immediate violence. Also, having seen Otto in action and what we've learned through the Seekers, it illustrates how even if they exemplify this archetype, they are simply fatal flaws, and not inherently evil. Otto Einfasen killed a woman in an instant of believing her to have lied and betrayed the house before even considering it important to ask or try to acquire information on who she sent the message to. That is a serious character flaw that could in many situations have serious consequences. At the same time, we are coming to know Otto appears to be trying to call for a meeting of the heads of houses and find out what is going on and seemingly not part of some larger mustache twirling evil plot.
Pride - Tachonis:
Time and time again, everything we have learned about Primus points to a man so full of pride in his station and bloodline that it does pass over into mustache twirling evil in pursuit of what he believe is theirs by right. It makes sense as to why pride is seen often to be the most serious and "evil" sin. He was so proud of being a sorcerer that his son Occtis didn't mean a thing to him when he couldn't manifest any sorcerous ability. They look down their noses at everyone and everything. Also their whole plan to play fast and loose with the ritual with the angel making from the Palazzo Davinos reeks to high heaven of hubris. They did not believe they could fail.
Sloth - Royce:
Recognizing how the house Royce and Aranessa could fit in with the seven deadly sins is really what solidified this for me. This is often seen as a "lesser evil" among the sins because its not often seen in actions, but rather in the absence of action, and thus the accountability for what comes from that often slides off those responsible or rather lands with less weight on them. We do not know much about the broader movements of the house outside of her grandfather siding with the houses in the rebellion, but considering they were in a spot where they were open to being taken down and weakened significantly, its not too hard to imagine how a possible flaw of staying in a comfortable place and failing to move quickly could put one in a bad position when tides are turning. Imagine having a home in a fairytale come to life filled with immortal ageless fae and the kind of idleness that might lead one to embody.
But specifically looking at Aranessa, we hear it from her own mouth. She has a flaw of not acting and being unsure of how and what to do when the pressure is on. She admits despite her deep, true, and ever persisting love for Thjazi, she did not act on it. She simply let him go and regrets it terribly. In her parting from Julien, she was still asking him "what do I do?". Some ways sloth can be exemplified by failure to act because one is too comfortable that they are blindsided and move too slow too late or through not having a clear enough, sure enough answer as to what a next move should be so they chose too late or not at all.
Lust - TBD - Kalystra:
We really don't know anything about these last houses beyond their names, but I did find this bit from the CritRole Wiki interesting: "House Kalystra's surname could derive from the Ancient Greek kallistos (the most beautiful)."
Gluttony - TBD - Memnari:
Again, all we know is their name and that they were a warrior house.
this is from the Ethrand Tachonis Torment Nexus fic I'm working on. very slowly. it's going to be long and take me forever to finish but it will be so beautiful when I'm done
Something is wrong, Ethrand fears, in his mind. At all moments, ever since he picked up the damned Stone of Nightsong, he has been haunted by the high pitched, chirping trill of birdsong. He hoped his head would go quiet again when he left the Stone in his brother’s corpse for the ritual.
It has not.
He allows his lips to curl into a minute snarl only because he is alone in this wing of the house, for now. Once the ritual was put in motion, he thought he’d be free of the incessant noise, but clearly he was mistaken. He tries to rein in his displeasure; perhaps this is the price he must pay for House Tachonis to finally, successfully claim the power they deserve.
If this is the cost, it must be worth it, he tells himself. It has to be. It was an honor to be the one to complete those first steps of the ritual. He has spent his life honing himself into a weapon of House Tachonis’s will; of all of his siblings, it should have been him to put the failure in his proper place. That duty sits heavy and proud on his shoulders.
And yet—
This maddening bird still sings in his head.
This hiatus seems like the best time to make posts like this so per my previous post about the Tachonis family not all being full casters and instead the possibility of some of them being multiclass, here are my thoughts as to exactly what each member of the family is based on either mechanics or vibes.
By this I mean for obvious reasons and in a mechanical sense each member of the family except for Occtis has at least one level in sorcerer. Also my knowledge mostly falls under original 5e and not 5.5 so i did a little bit of research. Also I'm going to put all this under a read more as to not hit the tags with a wall of text.
First, the full casters:
Primus: Full Level 20 Shadow Sorcerer, this one is easy and in line with the information we know about him.
Petra and Ryah: Like Father like Daughters, also full sorcerer though perhaps somewhere more around level 15-18 give or take, has access to a lot of the same spells as their father but perhaps not 9th level spells
Koral and his alleged twin: Unknown, presumably also full caster? Since we know little to nothing about either of these two it's really hard to say. This is also why I will not say anything about our unknown 7th sibling either.
Univere and Tertia: From what little we've seen of her and her brother, Univere has only used spells so for now I shall put her in this category. Tertia, I might also say but unfortunately we didn't get to see much of her at all outside of a monstrous form.
And now for the two keystones of this theory: Ethrand and Frons.
Ethrand: I am not the first to mention this but much earlier in the campaign someone (who's name escapes me sorry, if you see this post hi) made the point that Silence is not a spell usually rewarded to Sorcerer (it is to Divine Soul, not Shadow in 2014 rules) and what Brennan has previously said about how Tachonis historically have no access to illusion spells, like Silence.
So where did this come from? Of course it could be something handwaved away and not rules as written specifically for that particular combat but personally I like the idea that the younger children of the Tachonis have branched out slightly. In universe this could be due to the the younger half of Primus' children are weaker in their sorcerous abilities, and so make up for it in other skills. This is how Shadow Monk hybrid Ethrand can still win. As of writing this however I learnt they actually changed how that subclass works in 5.5e which means that this could be a complete mashup or a completely different track than what is planned, who can say. He could also be a rogue, that too.
Frons: Absolutely definitely because of the bit but it's really funny to me that we did not see Frons cast a single spell. As such, ignoring the fact it was a bit, Frons Tachonis is now the jock of the family and is built mostly into Fighter. Congratulations Frons is did not help you. However since he is apparently two places above Occtis in the birth order it does go with this theory.
Doset: Finally, let's briefly touch on our second Tachonis cousin. Doset is described as having a rapier at his side so that could also lean towards fighter.
But as I end this long ramble one thing I did forget to mention is likeliness and proof that all of the noble families potentially having some degree of martial combat experience, at the very least the Einfasen, Royce, and Halovar all have members who are shown to be martial fighters we know of. I am just focusing on the Tachonis in this particular post. It also makes sense that as the sundered houses' ancestral powers wain, they look for new power, not just in magic, but in other means.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
I think Wick likes to take it slow and sensual for sure. Partly because he’s inexperienced and partly because he’s so lost in his reverence of the moment that he never wants it to end. He takes his time exploring a lovers body and when they explore him in turn he wants it to last forever. Once’s he’s really in it, Wick could enjoy love making for hours. Even longer if you include the mandatory cuddles afterwards!

I think this was for the sexy body headcanons prompt, so here's a few rapid fire ones! Also thank you! I have so much fun doing these!
-Very long dexterous fingers and usually keeps his nails painted black. Not that most people can tell because he never takes those gloves off.
-What they say about slender men being hung is true in this case. He's even slightly embarrassed about it. 4 inches soft and nearly 7 inches hard. However without blood flow it never really reaches that upper length anymore. Doesn't mean he isn't still so sensitive that a few well placed strokes can have him forgetting to breathe again.

-Double jointed! You can't tell me that Occtis doesn't just scream hyper mobile! He can easily dislocate several fingers as well as bigger joints. It proves useful for escaping tight situations and interesting bondage but sometimes he does have to be careful not to push himself too far and do real damage.
-Occtis doesn't have much body hair but still more then most of his siblings. He was self conscious about it growing up but has learned to embrace it, especially after finding more primal sides of himself. I think seeing Kattigan changed his brain chemistry and his opinions on body hair. He takes great pride in maintaining his hair, eyelashes, his small but defined treasure trail and the soft patch of nightlight black hair surrounding his cock.
Julien for V? I have my own headcanons about how loud this terrible man is but I need to know yours.

I think he knows just as much about toys as he knows about his own body, which is to say, still learning but ahead of most. He never dared to own anything like that while living with family but after some time out adventuring he started to grow a modest little collection. He was too nervous to approach people so toys were his easiest option for that kind of exploration. After the whole un-death thing and slowly coming to terms with the fact that people actually are attracted to him, he quickly realized toys could also be a stand in in some of the places he couldn't exactly preform like he used to be able to. He loves to use toys on others, see how much they can take or what gets the biggest reaction. He also likes to use toys on himself while he orders a partner to touch themselves or a third lover while he watches.
