This is Temescal--Telegraph Avenue from 45th where there is The Creative ReUse store, New Bicycle Parking structure near 48th near Tara"s Organic ice cream and then to the 2 alleys--called Temescal Alley. There is a fancy doughnut shop next to a local jewelry store called Esquillito and in the other alley there is a barber shop, coffee store, a men's clothing store, plant store and retro/found furniture place to name a few. People were out and about on a Sunday mourning. Temescal Alley is surrounding by restaurants: Bette's bakegoods, Lane Splitter's Pizza, an Ethiopian restaurant, and a tapas place and korean food. Walgreens is across the street, MacArthur Bart stop is a half mile to the south, the freeway is around the corner and so is Children's Oakland Hospital. Smokey Tangles which is located near Creative ReUse is an art gallery and a pop-up clothing store. So lots there is a lot of action in this short stretch of blocks.--post from Patti
