I just finished watching Endless Orbit SSX and I love these dorks so much. The episode where Momono destroys Planet Maicron I was so proud of him and Rebi these children are too pure.

SSX is my fav, and that’s such a good episode!! I love everything about it. It’s so good.

I love these good kids. I love them. 

I don’t even have anything snarky to say because they’re too pure.

I’m pretty convinced EO Daiba’s dad was an emotionally abusive garbage man.

Or at the very least horrifically neglectful to the point where he let his <15 year-old son get into repeated gang fights.

And that’s why EO Daiba was such a street punk who started laughing when he found his dad’s corpse.

Harlock will not admit he is a dad but a while after adop-I mean recruiting Tadashi and Rebi in SSX Harlock makes a joke that is undeniably a dad joke and realizes he's reached the point of no return

Bless, this is good stuff. I hope it’s something real dumb like Rebi asks him why the bridge is called that if you don’t use it to walk over something, and Harlock’s like “Well, you see, it is called the bridge becuase I use it to walk all over my enemies >;)” Everyone’s groaning and tells him to stop. I hope he also starts doing the “When I was your age…” spiel.

ALSO consider Monono accidentally calling Harlock “Dad” without thinking, Monono gets all red faced, and everyone starts snickering. Harlock doesn’t even notice. It does not phase him that anything out of the ordinary has happened. He has unconsciously accepted his role. Why is everyone laughing?

I’ve rambled about this before, but it came up again, so here’s an important excerpt from my group chat

Cine: Now we're watching The Unlimited or as I like to think of it 2013 Harlock but good.

Show is named after all-powerful immortal cool guy (you don't know he's really immortal ‘til later bc he looks younger than he is), but he's actually not the main character. Instead the main character is a pretty boy brunet.

Immortal guy used to work for the government but turned traitor after things went belly-up and most of his comrades died horribly.

Immortal guy is wanted and seen as a terrorist.

Pretty boy brunet says he used to be in the military and that's why he's so good with gun, but he's a liar.

Turns out he still works for the government and he joins up with immortal guy as a spy/assassin.

Blusey: oh there was also a cute scream boy

Cine: I’M NOT DONE

Pretty boy brunet has an implant in his eye that keeps him in contact w/ the governmnet.

Immortal guy has a fancy ship where he keeps other outlaws.

They're his friends and he sees them like a family. He's very dedicated to them, even pretty boy brunet who he knows is a traitor from the start.

Warrius: oh it is harlock

Cine: Pretty boy brunet does go full traitor and ruins things for the group, causing a raid on the ship.

But by that point he's grown so attached to Immortal guy that he double crosses the government and sides with Immortal boy and friends.

This leads to something going weird with his eye.

Harlock: "How are you liking the new uniform, Daiba?"

Daiba: angrily trying to use a touch screen monitor "What are the gloves-?"

Harlock: "Aesthetics."

AU where instead of a harmonica, Daiba plays sad songs on the kazoo that had been passed down in his family for generations.

AU where Harlock and Zero are Daiba’s dad’s:

Daiba goes to the fridge and pulls out a bottle of juice. Takes a swig. His nose wrinkles. “Dad,” he yells. “ The juice is bad.”

Harlock peers in and is like “Zero, please come look at your son.”

Zero walks into the kitchen and sees Daiba and just walks back out.

Daiba’s like “It’s not my fault you bought bad juice!”

Harlock’s like “Daiba, that is the snow cone syrup Zero got for your school function.”

Daiba’s like “Oh.” Takes another swig.
