“ Oh … I see. Do you ever talk to them? ” She asked, curious as to what it was like to be in contact with the dead. Reina wondered if most of them were angry, sad, or maybe just numb to emotions. She had a handful of questions related to the subject, but refrained from asking them. As Taedyn inquired about the foundation of her sickness, Reina didn’t say a word, staying seated against a couple of pillows as she watched him in silence. Slowly, she rose a hand to rest on his cheek when noticing his furrowed eyebrows. “ You need to calm down, corazón. ” The princess murmured, hand dropping only after a few seconds. “ No, no. The first thing I tried? A ver, that is a hard question, cariño. I think it was … French fries? Is that what they are called? I think those were the first weird thing that I ate. I remember liking them a lot. ” She admitted with a quiet chuckle, taking the bowl he passed to her. Taking a spoonful of the chocolate flavored ice cream, Reina brought the utensil into her mouth. After a second, her eyes widened and she nodded her head slowly. “ It’s really good … Hmm, I like it. I really like it. ” The brunette affirmed as she continued to nod, already reaching for another spoonful.
“Talk? That is not --” he had talked to them, though not directly when they were in his mind. The Underworld was different, it had more of an access to Taedyn. “That all depends,” he stated, figuring it was true enough. Taedyn followed her movements, his hands placing on top of her much smaller, petite ones. Eyes dropped close, a sigh escaping his mouth as she spoke. He was told this countless times before, how he needed to calm down and recharge. Distancing himself was difficult, however, he simply couldn’t stand back and watch Reina in pain. He had questions, plenty that needed to be answered. Taedyn would find a way to help her, he was sure of it. “French fries? Do you like them?” Smiling at her response, Taedyn knew it was difficult to not like such a luxurious food. He had grown rather addicted to french fries, but tried hard not to overindulge in them. “Now that you have had ice cream, I must ask -- Have you had cake?”

As he removed his hands from her forehead, Reina opened her eyes, a mixture of confusion and curiosity in her gaze. His answer made her raise her eyebrows a bit, finding it understandable and yet strange. She didn’t know the dead could talk, but it made sense when Taedyn was taken into consideration. “ Really? … Do you hear them all the time? ” The princess asked. While she wasn’t afraid of the whispers that clouded her mind a few seconds ago, having multiple voices saying random things to her all at once was definitely not the best experience she’d ever had. It made her wonder if Taedyn ever tired of it. Shaking her head, she turned her gaze downwards at his suggestions, fingers brushing messy curls behind her ears. “ Trust me Tae, being here isn’t the cause of this. It’s not— … I don’t think it has anything to do with physical matters. If that was the case, I would have started feeling this sick the moment I left home. ” Which definitely wasn’t the case. While he went to find some ice cream for the two of them, Reina distracted herself with studying the TV from a distance, curious as to how the object worked. When the male came back, she turned her attention to him. “ Hm? Oh, no, we don’t have that there. There’s a handful of things that I had never tried before coming here. ” She told him while reaching for a spoon. “ Ready. Also, which ice cream should I take a bite of first? ”
“It’s strange,” he paused, lips pressing together as he tried to find the right way to explain it. He heard the death constantly, but there were times when the voices quieted down and his mind was left at ease. Taedyn often wondered if that was the reason he struggled with his own thoughts, there was hardly anything which he perceived to be his own wandering around up there. “No -- No I really don’t.” He whispered, not wanting to upset her with the real answer. Reina did not need to know the actual fact, it was his own punishment or gift depending on the person. “If it is not a physical matter, then what would it be? Something that was mental, how could that happen?” He had not understood what she was attempting to say, causing Taedyn’s brows to form together. “You do not?” Taedyn paused, climbing back into the bed and handing her over the bowl. “What was the first thing you tried and what has been your favorite?” He questioned, curious to know what Reina was getting into. Picking the spoon up, Taedyn shoved a small spoonful into his mouth. “Take some of this one, it’s really good.” Handing the bowl over, Taedyn exposed the chocolate flavor.
Are you afraid that Reina might die?
“Of course I am terrified. Reina has so quickly become the world to me. What would I do if she had died? Who would I be without her?”

“ Sure you do, love. Sure you do. ” She played along with a smile, knowing that he was fighting the urge to smile. When he asked if she was feeling a bit better, Reina nodded affirmatively, her body relaxing in his embrace. She wasn’t quite sure of how exactly he was able to make the coughing go away for the moment, but it didn’t matter. As Taedyn talked about how there were still things that surprised him, ones that regarded her in particular, Reina felt a bit of relief in knowing that life hadn’t become boring to the god. She couldn’t quite grasp how an immortal life was, but assumed that having things to keep one interested and excited was necerssary, and she liked to be that thing in particular. Letting him hover on top of her, the princess closed her eyes when his hands moved to her forehead, not very sure of what to expect. As the strange voices began to fill her mind, Reina furrowed her eyebrows a bit, lips parting to speak. “ … Who are they? ” She whispered, knowing there were far too many people speaking in her head. It didn’t scare her; on the contrary, she was curious about them. “ Either way, uncle Pacha seems to agree with my father’s opinion on her, which makes me believe it’s accurate and not just overly dramatic. I can’t go home like this because my people will lose their minds over me being ill. It’s not something I can hide from them, perhaps the severity but not the fact that I am not at my healthiest. ” And Reina didn’t want to bring chaos to her home. “ It’s … It’s hard to explain. And yes, that’s alright; I think I can handle being on my own for a few minutes. ” She added with a small laugh.
Taedyn’s lips wiggled to a smile, pleased by the fact that she was feeling slightly better. He knew it was not a remedy, that somehow her coughing would return later on. Still, in the moment, she had seemed at peace in his arms. Taedyn wondered if it was possible for him to not be surprised, finding that there was always plenty of hidden secrets needing to be told between the pair. He loved that about Reina, how so easily he was able to learn something different. He feared being dull, himself, though knew she somehow loved him despite. Taedyn waited for her reaction, watching carefully as his powers were transferred into her mind. She was easily able to pick up on the voices, the deceased speaking nonsense into her. “They are --” he paused, releasing his grip so that the voices were depart her. “They are the deceased, the ones taken down to the Underworld.” He said, having hoped that part would not be scary. “What if you got better if you went home? Don’t you think that being here might be making you sick? Something has to be doing it, we have to figure out the reason.” Was it the food? Was someone poisoning her? No. That could not be, she had her dog to watch over her. “I will be right back,” he murmured into her forehead. Moving quickly, Taedyn disappeared off to the kitchen. Grabbing the nearest ice cream he could find, the god returned only minutes later. “Have you had chocolate in Peru?” He questioned, laying out the two different cartons. Mixing both the vanilla and chocolate, Taedyn flipped the tv on before settling back into bed. “Are you ready?”

“Yes and I’m here to help you make sure she’ll be ok. You think I’m calm knowing he could show up and do anything to our cousins? I’m freaking out just as much as you. All I ask is that you trust me and calm the fuck down.” Thea was heating up a bit, trying to reason with her brother and avoid any sudden actions that could cost them something. Her brothers were both keen on making the other suffer if needed. “Daphne could talk to him. She’s his daughter and we’re trying to ensure their safety. If she tells him, then it’ll be good for us against Ariston.” She was reaching too far ahead. Even Hades wasn’t fully trusting of Dalia and she hated her family as much as he did. “And be her only means of reasonable protection against him?” She didn’t mean to argue so much, but she was too paranoid. Her hand came up to ruffle little flames from her hair as they approached the treehouse “And do you think you can take him down any easier? If you want to face him by yourself then by all means. I’ll take care of Reina and you two can have your little fit.”
“What would you be able to do other than help soothe her pain? Why must Ariston be difficult, threatening us over a stupid fight between him and our cousins? -- You want me to trust you? Did you think I did not? I trust you all regardless of the circumstance.” Ariston the least, but there was a sense of loyalty towards his brother. “Still father is more powerful. We must be worrisome of angering the gods.” Though Taedyn had wanted to protect his girlfriend, he understood going against the gods. Losing their favor had cost him a great deal, both leaving him trapped and cursed. “I can protect Reina no matter the circumstance, I assure you that. And the only way Ariston can be defeated is by us, by his siblings. We merely have to trick him.”

Chuckling at his response, she rolled her eyes. “ I thought you were supposed to have a good memory. ” The princess teased with a small smirk. As she continued to cough quietly, Reina felt Taedyn apply a bit of pressure to the back of her neck; she couldn’t understand the purpose of the small action at first, though soon enough the brunette found herself feeling better, so much that she stopped coughing on no time. As a way of thanking him, she pressed a small kiss to his cheek. “ Many years? You must have seen it all. Does anything surprise you still? ” She asked curiously, wondering if it was possible to still find things to look forward to or be excited about after such a long time. Nodding her head when he told her not to be afraid, Reina rose her eyebrows. “ Show me. You know I am not afraid of you or anything that surrounds you, right? ” There were few things that caused her to fear and Taedyn wasn’t one of them, nor was death. “ Hm … That is one way to put it, I think. I’ve never seen her myself, pero my father would always describe her as scary beyond all reason. Go back to the Empire? ” Her head shook from side to side as the princess slowly sat up on the bed, watching while the male made his way towards the television. “ I can’t, not like this. Not without causing a commotion. I can’t do this to my family or my people. ” She told him, her eyes diverting to the screen. “ How did those people get inside the magic box? Are they trapped in there? And well, this ice cream thing sounds good. I’d like some, yes. ”
“I have a perfect memory!” Taedyn murmured, pressed lips trying not to shine a smile. His fingers continued to press into her, his lips brushing against her neck as he tried to soothe her. When she begun to slowly stop coughing, Taedyn moved his hands away. “Are you feeling a little better?” He whispered. “I cannot say I have seen it all, but a good plenty I am sure. There is much that surprises me, everything you do applies to that.” He stated, finding that he was constantly left in awe whenever Reina did something. Taedyn had not been sure what it was, but there was something in Reina that he was so desperately drawn to. Perhaps it was the way she moved so elegantly or the way she presented herself that made him think that. “I know.” Pausing, Taedyn shifted his body so he was now hovering over her. Hands dropped down to either side of her forehead. When his head begun to close, the god started to channel powers into her, letting the voices of the decease fill her mind. “Scary beyond all reason? Sounds like death to me...Yes. Have you thought of that? Why, why can you not? What is going to happen?” He asked, taken back by the response. When she moved, Taedyn dropped onto the bed and flashed a concerned, yet confused glare. “They are already there, I think? I am not sure if they are trapped, is that even possible? Okay-- I’d have to go get it down in the kitchen. Is that okay?”

Her lips curled into a small, lazy smile at his statement. “ Have I ever mentioned how much of a wonderful boyfriend you are, cariño? ” It wasn’t much of a real question, she only wanted him to know. Bringing a hand to her mouth, she coughed a small bit, glad that it was barely anything compared to before Thea gave her the herb. “ But I like it when you talk, even if silence is your specialty. You are nice to talk to, and I’m not just saying that. ” When Taedyn commented on how his gifts were more like his father’s, unlike his sister on the other hand, Reina stayed quiet for a few seconds, merely watching him. “ I want to see what you can do. Is there anything you can show me? Bueno, this will sound terrible but … I find it incredibly hard for Yzma to have a child in the first place. ” She wasn’t a good person and from what the princess had heard, nor was she attractive. Shaking her head, Reina reached out for Taedyn’s hand, locking her fingers with his. “ Your sister already has enough on her mind, Tae. I can’t make my problems her own, not when there is so much happening right now. Action and romance, yes; there must be at least one of these … movie things that fits the category, right? … What is an ice cream? How does one make cream from ice? ”
“I do not know. Maybe you can refresh my mind a little,” he teased, leaning forward towards her body. Wrapping his arms around her waist, Taedyn nudged his head into the nook of her neck. At the sound of her cough, Taedyn let out a soft sigh. Fingers brushed against her shoulder, moving under and towards her the back of her neck. He applied pressure there, slowly needing his hand into her. “I will talk then, for you Reina. We can talk about anything you like, random topics too. I have lived for many years, I am sure I can figure out something interesting to come up with. “I can show you then, sometime later on. We would have to be outside, it is better that way. But I can -- I can show you something else. You mustn’t be afraid of it, it can be a little difficult to handle.” Exposing her to the voices, the faint whispers of the death -- that may have been more than a normal human can handle. “Why, is she old?” Maybe that was the case, though there were other ways of having children. “What if we did something else? What if we brought you back to your home? Maybe someone can help you there then?” Moving out of the bed, Taedyn got to his feet and moved towards the TV. He flicked it on and quickly switched to Man of Steel. “I think there is romance in this?” He shrugged, not entirely sure. “Ice cream is some sort of dessert. It is cold and sweet. Like...Is that Spanish dish. Something with milk and three creams?”
theblondefire:
“You’re gonna blow up Tae. I need you to relax and understand Reina will be ok, so you don’t destroy something. Too much worrying isn’t good for both of you.” Thea gave it to him somewhat bluntly and made sure he understood that he’ll snap sooner or later. “True, maybe she can convince someone to help us. Hercules or something since she has more of a human than god mindset.” The gods lived for so long, that some see humans as disposable but with enough convincing from a demigod, it may help them. “That seems like a punishment for you since you won’t be around her. Meaning you won’t know if she is ok or not until it’s too late.” They were stuck in that case. Ariston knew where they were so they can’t be near others but they wouldn’t know how they were either. “Oh did I strike a nerve Taedyn? My apologies, since you’re so powerful and can withstand Ariston yourself.”
“Blow up. I am not going to blow up. How can I relax? How am I suppose to not worry about Reina and her safety. Ariston threatened me and she is sick! What do you expect me to do, let it happen?” There was an extent to which Thea had been right. The more pressure applied to Taedyn, the more likely he was to explode. It was difficult to manage and somehow he wasn’t too keen on playing nice lately. “Hercules? You want us to talk to him. Hercules? Might as well go find Hermes,” Taedyn muttered, not quite liking the idea. Perhaps, again, Thea was right. Though contacting Hercules was hardly in the favor of any Hades child. “What if I go with her? It might be better for me to leave too.” He said, knowing he wouldn’t let Reina go alone. “Can you? Ariston is only as powerful as each of us. He may be more sick, but he could not take me down easily.”
I could keep you safe,” he rasped. “They’re all afraid of me. No one would hurt you again, or I’d kill them.

“Now you’re playing with my head. Do you want the truth or not? Or is it that you can’t handle the truth?” Thea asked, trying to figure out why her brother won’t get off this rollercoaster of emotions. “Well, Daphne wasn’t really affected since she married a human and doesn’t you know, hate us. Maybe there’s hope for the others?” She tried to be a bit convincing to him. “Well, she is a natural leader so it’s pretty expecting –” She made sure not to exaggerate her reaction for him volunteering her. “I guess I’m doing that now.” The flora bloomed in their direction as they walked. “Actually, it’s for when you get lost and I’m not here to save you.”
“I want the truth Thea, I can handle it.” He pursed his lips, arms crossing as she spoke. He was not a fragile being, Taedyn was rather sure he can handle whatever stupid comment his sister had to make. “Mhm, maybe. But a human has a way of making you more humane. Then again she is partially human herself.” Shrugging his shoulders, Taedyn was not exactly sure what his sister wanted him to do with that information. “I know that. That is why we have to find a way to get her to safety. Maybe if she went back home, do you think that would be better for her?” Reina would be far away from Ariston then, making it impossible for his brother to cause her any harm. “Save me, do you really think I need you to save me? Please. I rather suffer before any of you have to save me.”
empreina:
“ Are you sure? I wouldn’t want you to feel like you have to be here every hour of the day; it might get a bit boring, I’m not exactly good company right now. ” Head tilting to the side, she kept her eyes on him as she spoke again. “ You had never told me about that. Actually, you’ve never told me anything about the things you can do, and I know there must be a number of them. Thea grew some vines to make me a bench last time we talked — it surprises me that it handled my weight. ” She added with a small chuckle, knowing that laughing too much would probably make her start coughing again. Shifting a little to rest her head on his chest, Reina glanced at the vile. “ A bit better, definitely. A spawn? … Why would anyone want to have a child with Yzma? ” The thought made Reina shudder a bit. While she hated being judgmental or superficial, she was still her father’s daughter and found it a bit hard to hold back at times, especially when the subject was Yzma. “ But no, I have not met anyone that intends to hurt my family. When he planted a kiss on her forehead, she closed her eyes for a moment. “ Oh? That sounds interesting. Action or romance … Why not both? Is that possible? ”
“I know I do not have to be, but I want to. You are my girlfriend Reina, I want to be by your side regardless of whether you are good company or not. Besides I happen to be quite good at sitting in silence, a speciality of mine. “There are just things that I don’t tend to speak of often. There are a few, though they are rather different than what Thea is capable of. She is more of my mother whereas I am my father.” Taedyn could not create vines, he was sure he could only destroy them instead. “I do not know, but what if there was a possibility? Do you think a child is around here or could we find another person to make a potion. My sister might have an answer, but I am afraid of getting you into harms way.” Taedyn had not wanted to attempt anything that could possibly cause harm, Reina had already been in such pain. “An action romance movie? Is that even a good mixture? I suppose I could find one. Would you like if I grabbed you something to drink or eat first? Ice cream perhaps might be good.”

“Is this…really where you’ve taken up residence?” the Goddess grimaced as her eyes surveyed the interior of her twins cabin.
Taedyn’s fist clenched shut on a glass, creaking cracks until it shattered within his palm. Eyes narrowed at the voice, head snapping around in hopes it had been a dream. “Dianthe. What are you doing here?”
